ALL CFD Companies (Fire/EMS) are utilizing the FD800/EMS800 Zones "for the day", so might be a temporary thing. This could prove tricky at the scene of a working fire when the Battalion Chief doesn't have scanning capabilities while on the 800 Zones, and can't monitor Fireground and Main or Englewood. No "drivers" are assigned to Battalion Chiefs, but a Command Van is (2-7-x) dispatched. Some of the newer apparatus's do have mobile radios with the FD800/EMS800 Zone (APX8500's?), but most will be using the portable radios (APX8000's).

Yes...Site-1 is the simulcast site, so a little more range.

Companies are being asked to switch back to test the P25 Conventional UHF, then switching back to the 800 Zone, so this is probably temporary.

Englewood companies back on the P25 UHF Conventional system.

**Radio Shop corrected many of the erroneous Radio ID's at least. Some of the portables were way off**

Are the CFD talk groups phase I or phase II?
Yes, the talkgroups previously mentioned have been "self-identified" over the past couple weeks...1021,1022,1023,1024..all P25/Phase 1 non-encrypted. 1010,1011,1014..P25/Phase 2 Encrypted no confirmation, but based on Radio ID's..1010 is Command Channel, 1011 is either JHAT/Special Ops/ Haz Mat Channel? Unknown on 1014 as of yet.

Zones are identified as "Fire 800/EMS 800". Unknown on migration date yet.

Hopefully, this helps.

I did see a couple key-ups on TGID 1019, but couldn't determine who it was and whether or not it's encrypted. It would appear, CFD has a block of Talkgroups between 1010-1024.

As previously noted, TGID's 1010, 1011, 1014 have been noted as encrypted. Based on observations of Radio ID's, my best guess still remains: 1010 (Command Personnel), 1011 (HazMat/JHAT), 1014 and now 1019 is unknown.

I was told of a CFD memo dated May 6th that the FD800/EMS800 Zones are "back-up" at this time due to atmospheric interference and/or console issues. No other info at this time, but will update if I hear more.

My suggestion is to keep the 800 system programmed and a couple key strokes away, as it's apparent the interference is becoming very problematic. All this Zone changing will result in companies not on the right channel, but fortunately the supervisors are monitoring it to direct everyone to the right spot when companies return to the P25 conventional Zones.

I like the layout of the new database, this gives you the locations of the sites:

And they thought they had problems on the VHF analog system! This system is about 10 years old and already having issues

It's been around longer than that, but the issue they're having appears to be some reoccurring interference. The VHF system was rogue radios, which haven't been a problem.

I've also heard traffic on TGID 7002 (P25/Phase2) in the clear with RID's in the 705xxx range. The conversations seemed to revolve around housing issues, so possibly the Department of Human Resources?

Self-identified as CHA-1 this morning. RID testing was 702xxxx.
