TGID 7034 was heard in Phase 2 and in the clear shortly after 1000 Hrs. today and was identified as the Chicago Department of Public Health. Apparently thought they were doing a radio check on Starcom which wasn't the case. Two RID's 7902126 and 7902118 were seen.

They tested a second day too, all RID's in the 790xxxx series and self-identified as being "CDPH testing", but this time Starcom wasn't mentioned.
I heard it today notifying all hospitals of a 1000 Hrs. radio check on Starcom. TGID 4644 (labeled as as EMS Region 11 which is Chicago hospitals EMS Region), was coming up and saw encrypted radio traffic. This talk group (TGID 7034 on the OEMC 800 Mhz. system) must be the new "disaster calling" type of communications amongst all Region 11 hospitals with radio base stations in the ER's? I'll continue to monitor especially during a large scale EMS related event for further confirmation.

To add, I found this in the database and possibly a "replacement" ?:

I find it interesting that the Mayday Drill(s) at the west side fire academy are utilizing the FD Event 1/2 talk groups and not the simplex UHF mixed mode channels. The radios being used were the ones they programmed for the DNC and are not assigned to the companies.

This afternoon, the Harris ISSI link took the OCC console off line but not the CFD consoles at the OEMC. For the past 4 weeks or so, they've been running a patch which is bypassing the Harris ISSI bridge, which prevented another "crash" of the CFD consoles. OCC and the OEMC must be using the same ISSI bridge, but not Midway's Communication Center which uses only Harris consoles and wasn't affected.

Some may have noticed that pesky MDC tone on the EMS consoles and the lower audio outputs which is the sign that patch is active.

OEMC was testing across all the talk groups a little while ago with RID 5230005.

On a couple of occasions this week, I heard Midway TMA Supervisors using TGID 2514 in error trying to talk to other TMA's on the Terminal drive. This would fall under the O'Hare talk group block, so not sure if this is a new talk group programmed in the radios for future use, or has been in there all along and never used before? Site-1 and in Phase 2.

In post 455, this talkgroup was listed as ORD TMA, but it seems it was never actually used as they're on the TETRA system.

Heard a user identified as "Lincolnwood Fire" talking to the OEMC on EMS-Main giving a disregard to companies on a traffic crash this morning because it was in Lincolnwood's jurisdiction. RID was 7903717. First time I've heard an outside jurisdiction on the this system.

This is interesting. I know when I lived in Chicago years ago, on the police side, the north suburbs did have CPD radios in their dispatch centers and once in a while they would come up on the CPD zone channel. This was the case with Niles, Skokie, Lincolnwood and Rosemont. I think Evanston also had this capability. Do the suburbs that border the city have a similar arrangement in place today or like in the case with Lincolnwood FD, is this something new on the fire department side?

This is the first time I can recall hearing a suburb on the city’s 800 system. Many federal agencies do have access to the system, it just surprised me to hear Lincolnwood.

As far as police comms go, I'm not sure if it's still the case ever since CPD Zones went to encrypted P25. Most suburbs surrounding Chicago use Motorola APX-series radios, so it's possible they have direct access to CPD. For those that don't, like Cicero and Franklin Park (which use encrypted NXDN and DMR respectively), it's unknown.
