• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Somewhat related, though not firmware...got this notice in the KPT-300LMC. 1.30 can't be used after the server maintenance and 2.00 can't be used before the server maintenance, according to the notices. Was needing to transfer my stuff to a new laptop (still haven't done that...was looking for the instructions) and that's when I saw this.

Maybe I missed it but I hadn't seen this posted anywhere yet.

I don't see that notice, nor anything later that v1.30 on the US site. Is this a Japan-specific thing, or did someone drop the ball? The dates involved are January 13–15, 2024 (UTC).

It appeared within the KPT-300LMC. I'm in the US. Open yours and view server info and see if it says the same and let us know.

Yeah, it doesn't just pop up. You have to look at "server information", which is something I would never look at, since it isn't normally anything to care about-normally.
They need to send out a notice to everyone that uses that-dealers and end-users.

My concern was whether it was meant for the US market or not, since you'd have to go to the server status in LMC or be reading this thread to even know about it, which I imagine reflects a pretty small percentage of the installed base. The servers will actually be down from Friday night through Sunday afternoon US time, too, which might matter to some people.

Time will tell but I would not be surprised to have a pop up in D1 directing users to get v2.0. We'll see. I follow what you mean now. I suspect that dealers have been notified. @kd4efm have you received anything yet?

Yes, the bulletin that went out yesterday (the one with a working link, anyway) just points to the same bulletin on the Japan site, so the download link on that page points to the (currently) only repository of v2.00.

Is the US version the same as the Japan version linked above? or is there a new download link?

I do not see it on Dealer Tools but have been told it is the same.
KPT-300LMC v2.00 is now in the software download area of the US site, dated 2024-01-12. The zip file is identical to the one on the Japan site, as is the single file it contains (setup.exe), last modified 2023-11-28.
