TGID 3477 on and off open carrier on Cumberland site this morning, Possibly the county adding more fire or EMS channels.
I'll keep an eye out tonight. I live JUST within range of the Cumberland County simulcast in the shadow of the Berlin tower. I can confirm that while I get 3467 Cumberland County F-1 Patch on the Cumberland site, it does NOT cross over to the Berlin Simulcast or Hammonton Simulcast at this time.

What NJICS site covers the area of Mt.Laurel, Willingboro, Mt. Holly, Lumberton. Berlin doesn't cover according to the maps, nor does Burlington/Ocean or Bordentown?

That area is right between the Berlin and Bordentown cells. You'll have to make the determination for yourself which is stronger depending on your location.

Just to be clear, what map are you referring to? The one in the RRDB when you click Site Locations for the system? Keep in mind that you're only seeing the approximate center point of the cell's coverage, and even that is a best guess, not precise. Those simulcast cells are made up of multiple physical sites (called subsites), some of which might be quite a distance from the defined center point on the map.

So for example, the subsite in Berlin is just one of six subsites for the Berlin Simulcast cell. One other subsite for that cell is Cinnaminson, which is obviously much closer to the area you're asking about.

You can also just add any unconfirmed talk groups to the Wiki with your guess as to the user based on RIDs logged. Most of what you posted are encrypted TGs that can’t be confirmed without insider info.

Out of curiosity from the smarter people here.. Is there any benefit to monitoring sites other than a simulcast site that is in range? For example, I pick up the Morris County Simulcast very strong, but also pick up Washington, Walpack, Hamburg Mountain and curious if any traffic would be picked up on those that wouldn't be on the simulcast site.

And, do certain TG's randomly get transmitted on other sites? For example University Hospital Newark EMS normally transmits on the West Orange Simulcast, but randomly starts showing up on the Morris County Simulcast (usually late afternoon and early PM) which is quite a distance from their normal operations. Just wondering if traffic or other criteria causes a shift. Just for my own knowledge from the radio guru's here :)

Some ASRs could very well carry traffic that isn’t covered by a simulcast cell, however, with the sites you mentioned, it is likely also carried on Morris/West Orange. The simulcast cells carry much more traffic / TGs than the ASRs.

TGs won’t “randomly” be transmitted on other sites. There has to be a subscriber radio that is affiliated with the site to carry the traffic. If it’s not “normally” carried during the day, perhaps a supervisor/brass brought a radio home for the night. One of the MANY possibilities.

Hope this helps

what are the closest sites to rockland county for trunk reception and is there a statewide reference?
Are you even bothering to read the responses I've given to you over the past few month? Several times already I've stated exactly which sites are closest to Rockland when you've repeatedly asked.

any advice
Yes...stop making repeated posts asking the same questions over and over again for months. Answers have already been given, you're just not paying attention.

It has been mentioned many times that the NJICS is a much different beast from the old SmartZone system. No longer do you have three simulcast cells that cover 1/3 of the state, where you could listen to every NJSP TG for that region and sometimes beyond on one cell. The NJICS is much more efficient when it comes to channel usage, and so on some sites/cells only the one local area NJSP TG might be active. Nothing you can do about it, sorry.

Oh and also, this thread is intended for discussion of the system itself; new sites, new talkgroups, etc. not for troubleshooting reception issues from outside the state.
