No, I don't have a 100, just a 200.
Ah, and you think that there may be an improvement in audio on the 200.

Interesting, I think the audio on the 200 is okay but I do use an old Radio Shack communication speaker, the square black plastic one not the newer rounded one and I plug it into the earphone jack so I didn't have to do the StaticDischarge hum repair on this particular unit I use now, it's enough volume for the bedside.

Actually I am listening via a Bluetooth headphone paired to a USB powered Bluetooth adapter (powered by the USB A port on front of the sds200) plugged into a ground loop eliminator that is plugged into the front headphone jack.

No change in the setup but I usually have the volume level at 15 and now it's fine at 10. No other changes hardware wise.

Again, could be my imagination, but it sounds clearer to me.

YMMV

Wow.. well the fact that you noticed it and the fact that other people mentioned it on the European version isn't a coincidence.

With the earphone jack I usually have a volume of about 20 as opposed to six or seven using the units own speaker but again using the earphone jack it eliminates my rather loud hum even though I have the mitigation device properly installed. I've done the StaticDischarge repair in the past to other units but my eyes just aren't up for it anymore.

Interesting audio system you have set up and I'm curious to see if in the future something is revealed with this update that affects audio on both SDS units.

I just did a reboot and tried to update the firmware on my SDS100 again and it said again that my firmware is the current. I am on firmware 1.10.00.

I updated Sentinel prior to the first time I tried several hours ago to update the SDS100, so it must be something about the SDS100 since the folks that are updating are doing it on SDS200s.

I managed to upgrade Sentinel to 2.03; however, when I attempted to upgrade the 436 and SDS100, it showed this:

You have used Sentinel on your PC to the sds100 in the past with no problems... Correct?

No idea on the 436,but on the sds100, you did have it mounted in mass storage mode... Correct?

You were able to read from the scanner (the favorite lists, etc? Correct?

If not yes to all 3 above, I suggest you reboot your PC and one it is rebooted, start up Sentinel and then plug the USB cable between the sds100 and a USB input to your PC, wait for the Mass Storage or Serial message and hit the E button and wait for the mass storage message on the sds and then try to read from the sds.

The Uniden Wiki has been updated by @JoeBearcat to show there is an update to the firmware for the SDS100 but it doesn't look like the actual firmware update got put somewhere that Sentinel update processing will find it.

No problems with SDS and Sentinel; Yes, I had the SDS 100 in mass storage; I can see my Favorites on both radios. I thought of rebooting my PC and then try again. Thanks for the assistance.

Consider we had a discussion that a new BC125AT firmware had been available for long but Uniden not aware of it to post vs this case, posted new SDS100 firmware but not really made it available for us actually to update (as of this writing), my expectation is pretty low, anything can happen.

BTW, BCD436HP has no recent firmware update, but my Sentinel 2.03 does not give error popup, just like SDS100, popup info box to say my scanner is up2date.

I updated my 200 but 100 said it was up to date.
My *guess* says that @JoeBearcat has to do something to activate it, the wiki posts for the updates were just done yesterday and he hasn't done a new firmware post here yet.

The original post in the Uniden Tavern by @dnadareski here was that just did his weekly check for updates on his sds200 and it was downloaded and installed. He later found the wiki entries.

I updated Sentinel on my desktop and then tried the firmware update for my SDS100, but got the same message others are seeing. I'm going to update Sentinel on my laptop and then go out to my truck and see if the SDS200 will update.

UPDATE: The SDS200 update worked fine. I brought the laptop back into the house and tried the SDS100 update, but it still didn't work.

Take the working SD card and connect to your PC and Sentinels update function will put the latest firmware on it.

Are you saying, take the SD card out of the 100, then connect the radio to the PC and Sentinel, then do the upgrade of the firmware via Sentinel?

That's news to me, I've never been able to put a firmware update on a SD card that is removed from the radio and inserted in the computer. I've always needed the radio itself with the SD card in its socket.

Can anybody weigh in on this?
