Not unless the scanner location is set wrong, or location data for sites or departments got deleted. And in both of those cases, turning off location control merely masks part of the problem.Maybe location control needs to be turned off to scan normally?
It was my understanding when I used Sentinel for the first time that the only changes that need to be made is, set target model to SDS100 (if it's not already) updating DB and Firmware, and setting list/lists to monitor and download to On.The OP needs to see what is on the display when scanning with the zipcode.
The other possibility is added TALKGROUPS and NO SITES.
Although it doesn't hurt anything, checking the "FORCE WRITE FULL DATABASE" option is not at all necessary when writing an updated database (one with a newer date than the one in the scanner) from Sentinel to the scanner.Updating the DB in Sentinel only updates what the computer running Sentinel has to work with. You have to write that new database to the scanner. To do that, you must check the box that says FORCE WRITE FULL DATABASE, then new database along with favorites and other settings get sent to the scanner.
