Why is the IaR members site downloading version 73m while the free link lets you download 74f?

I tried running 74f, but the mp3 recordings are recording at half speed so it’s drawn out, low pitch and hard to understand. I just switched it over to 73m to see if that makes any difference, but v68 will record perfectly fine. I can’t use v68 anymore because it won’t send the emails. Any thoughts on how to fix the playback speed issue?
Hi

are you using a gmail account i ran into that issue after i started back using tt once a create a app password and add to tt config and now it working

What are your computers running?

The computer I am running is a Windows 7 Pro 32bit OS. Are all of your systems running 64bit OS? I am wondering if it may be because of the age of the computer and running a 32bit OS. I have tried everything I can think of, and cannot get the audio fixed. If I run TwoToneDetect 68, the audio files are perfect, but won't send the emails.

Right now the builds being provided are for Windows, Ubuntu 64 bit, and Pi OS 32 bit. The Pi OS 32 bit build will not run on a 64 bit OS. I'm not sure if you could get away with running the Ubuntu 64 bit version on Debian Bullseye or not, I haven't tried it.

Andy

Question for Andy. Have the builds being provided been updated for Pi OS 64 bit?
The 64 bit OS is the current recommendation using Raspberry Pi Imager software.

Look at the batch file and understand what is happening before you trust some stranger on the internet.

Here is a batch file I use to copy all of my configs to c:\users\owner\desktop\configs . I use Google Desktop and iDrive free version to back the configs folder up.

I had TTD running on a Raspberry PI that recently gave up the ghost.
I would like to install the TwoTone Detect74f_Ubuntu.tgz version on an Ubuntu 22.04 machine that I have, but I am having a lot of issues with missing packages. (Also starts with FFMPEG not found.)
I'm struggling with instructions for ver. 73# that only relate to manual Raspberry PI install. Any ideas, or should I leave TTD on a Windows 10 machine that is running other things?
Thanks in advance.

Running TwoToneDetect v 74f on Windows 10 Version 10.0.19045.4239
Now seeing an error where TTD does not record the audio from a page.
This occurred after 03/30/2024, everything was working correctly prior to that date.
The following is a clip of the error that occurs in the TTD log file.

[[['MABAS', 1712063503.449295, 0]]]
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "TwoToneDetect.py", line 1767, in alert
File "pyaudio.py", line 754, in open
OSError: [Errno -9999] Unanticipated host error
delay timer MABAS 08:11:43 on 04/02/24
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "TwoToneDetect.py", line 1790, in alert
UnboundLocalError: local variable 'recordstream' referenced before assignment
something went wrong in alert thread - removing alert_list_local: [['MABAS', 1712063503.449295, 0]]

I have tried stopping and restarting the TwoToneDetect app, and also, I believe, rebooting the computer.

There was a Windows update installed on 03/30/2024, that might have done something to break the TTD process.

March 26, 2024—KB5035941 (OS Build 19045.4239) Preview

I think the next thing to try would be to uninstall and reinstall TwoToneDetect.

Any other thoughts on this error?

Thanks in advance.

Rebooting the computer fixed this. Don't know what caused it originally.

That error is an indication that TTD is having trouble accessing the sound card for some reason. It's sometimes caused by the computer going to sleep, but I don't think that's what was happening in your case since it looks like it happened right after a tone detection. It seems to happen more often when using the built-in soundcard, and less often when using a USB sound card.

Turn off windows update if you do not use it to browse/etc.

Having the same issue again. Googling around, I found a post referring to the fact that Pyaudio on Windows 10 may allow recording ONCE then fail. That is what this seems to be doing, as I can test by playing a tone out from my phone, the recording will process, and I will receive the page with the audio. Unfortunately, the thread from that post says that this has something to do with microphone permissions?
Again, It seems to be corrected once if I reboot the machine.
Re: "That error is an indication that TTD is having trouble accessing the sound card for some reason." I also started having trouble starting TTD from the command line. I was getting "TTD could not find an audio device. TTD will close". I got around that by running the link that I have in shell:startup.
I would love to get this running on my Ubuntu machine. Any docs available on properly installing the Ubuntu package on Ubuntu? I tried, and had a lot of issues.
I'm working on resurrecting the PI 3b.

This issue seemed to be due to the cheap usb sound adapter I was using. Of course, I don't know why it worked for weeks, and then started to fail on Saturday. I had to figure out the multi-use audio jack in the Dell Optiplex 5050 computer, and start using that. Now everything is working correctly. I entered the tones for a fairly busy department nearby, and I have received the audio for ~15 alerts so far.

Also attempting to run TTD on Ubuntu (not a Pi). After installing ffnpeg the error I get is instance_id not found, which immediately crashes the program.

Do you have a valid config.cfg set up in the TTD directory? I think that error is likely an indication that it can't find one.

Couldn't get a link for the TwoToneDetect Raspberry Pi Image, soooooo... I embarked on a journey.

1) Go to any search engine "TwoToneDetect Raspberry Pi Image".
2) You'll see a link that should give you a hint.
3) Open the PDF.
4) page 6: You must download the TwoToneDetect Raspberry Pi Image HERE*
5) Download the image.

I've had a new oddity pop up on my system that has me scratching my head. Nothing has changed on the system in many months, and all of a sudden all my recordings are 84 seconds long. Each and every one. My min record length is set to 30 and the record release time is 3, and these values have worked great for years. Now somewhere over the last few weeks everything is 1:24. I've stopped/restarted TTD as well as rebooted the box to no avail. Any suggestions? Running 71c...

Oh... just noticed something weird with my audio level. Background is above the trigger threshold for some reason. Now that I've adjusted that I'll see what happens. No idea how/why that got changed.

No windows updates (I'm using Win 10 LTSC to avoid that as much as possible). All files are stored locally.
Now that I see the noise floor seems to be abnormally high I'll have to check the cabling when I get home.

LTSC installs updates every month. Look above and download wimdows update blocker.

Let us know about the high noise floor issue.
