New version of Icom Software for R1500/R2500/PCR1500/PCR2500

Hello,

I noticed Icom released new software on October 1, 2013.

This uses Version 2.10 firmware.

USB 3.0 is now supported: interesting I'm running this unit on usb 3.0 bus for almost a year now with no issue.

what is more interesting is I run software 2.20 that require firmware 2.10 but firmware 2.10 as per Icom was released in 2013 but software 2.20 was released in 2011 !!!

did you guys try it ?

I experienced a catastrophic failure of my XP-Pro desktop. I am contemplating going windows 7 and am curious if this new version supports windows 7 in either 32 or 64 bit machines.

Any guidance will help point me as to which direction to proceed. (radio is a R-2500)

I'm running software 2.20 / FM 2.10 on windows 7 64 for a couples years now and it working like a charm.

Thanks! I was contemplating limiting myself to 32 bit just so I could maintain usage of the r2500.
