I've searched the database andforums but found some contradicting information. Does anyone have an updated list of NJ MedEvac Aviation Frequencies and area News helicoptors frequencies? Are all NJ MedEvacs now on the NJSP TRS or only North/South Star? (ie. Air Atlantic 1/MONOC/etc). Thanks.

all n.j. medevac's now have to coordinate on scene <non-hospital transport's> via remcs over the njsp 800 trunk.i also believe that anytime any medevac <even out of state> is in the air in n.j. remcs know's about it.i have heard that for interfacility run's,each medevac can go thru their comm's center.MONDARO on this board is one of the foremost expert's on medevacs in general.you may want to reach out for him.hope this help's a little.

Hello......

Thanks for for the expert tittle but hardly and expert on anything these days with all the changes that occur. anyway I listen to the NJSP MedeVac stuff all on scene 911 request for MedeVac is coordinated by REMCS. I have heard every MedeVac helicopter in New Jersey including MedeVac 5 down in southern nj communicating with REMCS over the NJSP 800 system on the South Star or North Star fleets.

Atlantic Air 1 and MONOC have there own dispatch / communications Freq's and tones. Cencom tones Atlantic Air 1 out on Med 10. MONOC you will hear MONOC 1 come up on any of there Freq's.

Here in the Newark Metro Area the MedeVac have to talk to the Newark Airport Control tower when there in the Class B airspace which is roughly 8.5 MN around the lovely city of Newark ( more Like the Airport )
that freq is 127.8500 ~ The News Helicopters use 123.025 makes for interesting listening especially around the morning and afternoon drives.

Hope the above helps a little. any questions don't hesitate to ask thats what this wonderful board is about I like it here because we all help each other out especially with my recent Medic questions as of late it is nice to have experts where I am traveling to give a little insight on things so it works both ways here.

Take Care

To add to Tony's post, with regards to the news helicopters. I believe the frequency he posted for them is the one they use to communicate with Newark Airport. Although I've never monitored them, their operations frequencies are as follows: (Information taken from the n2nov.net website)

WCBS TV Channel 2 - 455.3125 PL 107.2
WCBS Radio 880 - 450.0875 PL 94.8 & 455.7000 PL 94.8
WNYW TV Channel 5 - 450.8500 PL 179.9 (Base) & 455.8500 PL 179.9 (Mobile)
WABC TV Channel 7 - 455.6125 PL 156.7 & 455.5125 PL 156.7 (Engineering & Helo)

WNBC TV Channel 4 isn't listed there, but I posted a question about it on the New York Forum here and got this: 460.4125 PL 82.5 & 161.6700 DPL 331
