Just some 5 counts. I know 4565 is in the DB as OEM but 4551 is not listed, and I've been hearing them testing that TG on and off over the past few months. (in the clear)

Interesting, Verona currently listed at 4549 and 4453......

I don't really search out the non configured ones, gets to complicated.

Doesn't look like this is a Verona TG afterall. I just got a hit on my radio with a radio ID alias of "NJTPD Port 74"

My unitrunker logs show a RID of 14610 from another call a few min ago.

According to my sources, 4551 is now in all our PD units as Verona Police Operations. Their was some concern regarding encryption not being programmed correctly on the Police talk groups, but that has been resolved. We are experiencing some issues with paging for the FD and Rescue Squad.
Pinnacle continues to work on it.

I have also heard that North Caldwell , and Essex Fells have been approved by their respective town councils to transition to NJICS. Cedar Grove is in the beginning process as well. Can West Caldwell be far behind? Well see.

Some pretty small towns to transition.

I was thinking they were off of LBPD 2 because the repeater is down for the tower work and work installing the 700mhz system.

Ive heard that LBFD isnt joining Neptune and AP on the LAN. Supposedly they dont have the money to buy the radios and are just going to stay on North

To much Motorola coolaid p25 has issues Motorola has been sued and a proper VHF system with proper upgrades for narrow banding can work and does. If p25 is so good why is shrolinberg Motorola closed??

West Caldwell should be testing for coverage using Tait portables. If they do switch then Caldwell will probably go too as West Caldwell dispatches them as well. North Caldwell and Essex Fells are not far behind.

Do we have any talk groups or do we need to start ID Search?

Also, word I got from a friend is Scotch Plains fire began receiving some radios for NJICS as well, though he did not have a timeline for a switch, but he believes it is coming.

Damn. I was hoping 790 would stay on VHF. They have great coverage and a system that works remarkably well, plus easy integration with FD and WEFAS.

I was talking to a tech with a Union County agency (who prefers to remain nameless) two weeks ago who indicated that the idea he was told that that the State will eventually encrypt the entire ICS system for all users. Now it's up to the individual agencies, but the idea is to provide the service to every agency, period. I've never hoped for a rumor to be false as badly as I want this one to be.

It's too early to search for talk groups. They are evaluating the coverage to see if it's worth pursuing. They will have to find the money, as they spent a considerable amount updating to XTS series a few years ago.

W2IRT the system is not always as good as we think it is. There are more dead spots that they are constantly complaining about, and receivers that are not always functioning. As for encryption, it is up to each agency whether or not they want it. So far we have been very lucky, but I know that could change at any moment. As always, stay tuned.

The goal has pretty much been to have everyone dispatched by 2400 on or simulcasted on the NJICS by early 2018.

Hmmm, I would have thought that when the Watchung site was moved from the W Orange Simulcast to the Union Co Simulcast that the coverage footprint would have helped with some of those coverage issues.

Anyone hear anything about Springfield? I have a hit this morning with a Springfield ID on 4621.

FD & EMS were supposed to start testing, not sure if they have. Again, goal is to have everyone dispatched by County 2400 on the NJICS or simulcast on the NJICS by 2018 (with a preference for on).

Verona can't get their crap decision to move to NJICS working. I'd laugh but as a tax payer. I'm paying for this awful piece of ****.
