It doesn't help that some of our dispatchers speak very quickly and sometimes mumble.

I don't want to get off topic but I can tell you that I had an XTS5000 with another agency back in the day and our Quantar was dual analog/digital. Same subscriber, same repeater, same antenna, etc. Digital outperformed analog as far as deciphering the audio at greater distances AND talk in improved. In other words I could key up the repeater from further out.
I will also tell you that coverage decreased using DES-XL encryption...significantly to the point that we didn't even use it. DES-OFB had no change in coverage.
This is all real world. Enough said.

Parsippany Fire and EMS testing on 700mhz system.
Until the state improves their coverage on the Somerset - Morris border, this shouldn't even be considered. They were testing the Morris County UHF trunked system as well. I think one of the issues is Morris won't let them come over to that systems unless Morris dispatches them. So now they are looking at the NJICS ? Why ? Their current repeater provides better coverage.

Parsippany Fire and EMS testing on 700mhz system.
Check this this TG out:
4143 T REMU Test 7 Test Talkgroup 7
I have been monitoring activity on this for the last 36 hours or so mostly late night after midnight and in morning hours between 9:30AM and Noon.
I heard a few street address's that may indeed be in Parsippany?
Unfortunately that isn't the right talkgroup number. Couldn't even pick up their tests with a wildcard programmed. St p25-7 is the name of the talkgroup
Does anyone know if they are still testing?
I don't monitor many PD's but I believe most.of Union County Fire is in both. I tend to listen to WO Simulcast as I can't get Union at work. I know I get Linden and Roselle fire. I have seen many Essex towns on both but haven't truly tried.Besides Newark Fire and Elizabeth PD and Fire, are any other municipal agencies carried full-time on both the West Orange AND Union Simulcast ?
