I would not click on that link to access your my.uniden.com account page... do it in a fresh, safe browser.....

It's easy to see if the link is going to the Uniden site or somewhere else. Hover over it and look at the URL.

Still, your advice is sound.

Two steps forward, one step back.

1.14.00 Release Notes (3/26/2018)
Support NXDN Trunking, NXDN One-Frequency Trunking, and Icom IDAS Trunking Upgrade
Allows the selection of RAN and Area in conventional programming.
Supports Motorola and Harris P25 Patch ID
Supports Extended Addressing EDACS Patch IDs
Improved simplex DMR reception with auto threshold
Adds support for NXDN to Analyze and LCN Finder functions
Improves P25 Phase 2 Encryption Muting
Corrected an issue where the anaylze function could cause the scanner to reboot
Added ENC and NAC display for conventional and search modes
Corrected an issue where selecting "Stop All Avoiding" did not remove avoid from all items.

NXDN is cool, thanks, but my federal conventional SCANNING is back to hanging up on P25 encryption and recording "dead (muted) air" with this firmware update (or is that downdate?). I can appreciate that type of operation in SEARCH MODE, as you want to see what's out there...ENC or not, but now we are back to the same problem we had way back (several firmware levels back, and to the beginning) of wasted scan time and recording space on ENC traffic. I looked in all the menus for a way to turn this off, but no user select option exists. Why was skip ENC on CONVENTIONAL SCAN removed? It worked well to keep the scanner scanning, and only stopping on traffic you can actually hear (in the clear).

I can no longer record my federal traffic...because it will be 90% dead air to get 10% clear traffic. Before I was only recording 100% stuff I could actually hear. That worked. Thank God my 996P2 and 325P2 still skip over ENC, but there is no recording function on those scanners. Better be careful on doing any firmware updates for those! Other than commercial radios that skip ENC on scan, the P2 series is the only viable option left at this point. Not happy about that part of the firmware "downgrade".

I have experienced all the update errors since x36 and they were all my errors. Everything from entering credit card numbers to entering the Upgrade Key wrong. It works seamless when done correctly. .

Tones, or digital hiss/motorboat noise?
Are you sure the broadcast on the frequency is NXDN?

There were comments earlier in the thread (or one of the other threads - it's hard to keep track when people are creating sub-topics within threads about something else entirely) about NXDN conventional not functioning under the OFT (One Frequency Trunk) configuration.

[Despite what others have said, there is nothing exotic or particularly "trunked" about "One Frequency Trunk" configuration. OFT is Uniden's method for extracting talkgroup and UID data from a single frequency carrying a digital voice/data (non-control-channel) signal. This should not be confused with a single-channel composite trunk site aka VDOC (Voice & Data On Control), which runs a continuous control channel which is interrupted when voice or data traffic needs to be carried.]

I programmed my conventional frequencies into my NXDN favorites list twice - once as OFTs and once as conventional entries, built similarly to the trick we used in the DMR public beta, where leaving the channel name blank resulted in sys/site and TG/UID data being displayed on the screen when receiving a signal on that conventional channel.

The OFTs have been silent, even in ID Search mode; the conventional ones started receiving signals this morning (after me adding them to my FL last night). Sys, Site, and TG are all showing as 0, with the UID having a value and the RAN being displayed as expected.

I have yet to try adding a TG 0 to the OFTs to see if that will allow them to receive the NXDN transmissions that come across without talkgroups. I may try that tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure in one of the other threads or even in this thread somebody stated that conventional NXDN was different from other digital modes in the fact that it doesn't use groups.

In relation to my post above, I hear the unmodulated digital signal ("tones" aka "motorboat noise") when I am close enough to receive the signal but too far away for the decoder to work. In other words, when I'm about 5 miles away from a handheld call (as I was this morning), I was getting unmodulated signal mixed in with good decode.
