Modulation should be NFM. Digital threshold should be Auto.

If you set audio option to digital, the Wait Time setting is ignored. It is only used if you set the audio option to All (both digital and analog).

Railroads generally use low power and directional antennas aimed along the tracks, so unless you are close to the tracks or using a directional antenna, you probably aren't going to get a clear signal. You can only hear the talking defect detectors and trains if they are within 5 miles or so with a handheld or mobile antenna, even on analog.

Yeah I ment unless your doing digital audio only. I sat at the forman shop and they have a mag mount ant on the siding of the roof... lol

Are you trying to receive the Tn D7 NXDN system? I have hand programmed the sites along the Tn River and plan to do testing Friday to see how it works. I will post back.

I’ve got it in there but not monitoring it right now I’m 500 miles from home the next few weeks
I’m in Springfield mplaying with the bass pro site
And the kato power company this week

Hello Scanner friend. Can someone use baby talk for me and tell me what i should be doing for this upgrade i have now read about ? NXDN Support Comes to the BCD436HP and BCD536HP?????

i use the sentential software on my mac, think i updated that system, and it didn't cost me a thing. why am i reading that it says 30$ on Uniden website????

what am i missing ? and what is a NXDN?

Honestly, I wouldn't even worry about any of it. If at some point in the future you've researched NXDN and would like to explore it, wait until Sentinel has been updated to handle it and buy the $60 key then. 👍

NXDN is a digital communication format like APCO P25 or DMR/MotoTRBO. The RadioReference Database shows that there are only a few NXDN systems in Maryland, so it might not be of much interest to you unless you'd want to hear from these systems:

That explains it. I've had three Discones fed with 1/2" Heliax (about 20' worth) and EACH of them was outperformed by a stock duck on the ground.

Try the stock antenna on your 536.

That would be due to receiver desense from a strong local signal, or a bad coax connection somewhere, not poor antenna performance. Especially with 3 different antennas.

Not yet, until the decide when to allow NXDN systems to import through sentinel. That is up to Uniden. That's why the Price was $30, and not $60 yet. Is cuz u have to program the systems yourself, unless u use other software to import it in. Sentinel isn't importing it yet.

No as stated at the beginning of the thread. NXDN is not supported in Sentinel yet you have to program it by hand for now. That's why the introductory price is 30 dollars and will go to 60 when supported. All that being said Proscan has been updated for NXDN.
