NXDN Upgrade for BCD436HP and BCD536HP Now Available!

Now since my 436 is now updated does that mean the Sentinel will have the the NXDN Systems to import?

UpMan discussed this in the opener of the thread. It may take a few weeks.

We'll have fun figuring it out in the meantime. Search is wonderful to find the gems.

I've purchased the key and entered it in the scanner (dashes and all), and I'm getting a message that says "Incorrect key entered. Press any key." I've re-entered the key three times and received this message each time.

It's been a while since I've upgraded my '436 (DMR was the last one), but I can't think of anything I'm doing wrong. We're not supposed to enter the "Checksum" info, are we?

I have a 436 and purchased the NXDN key.

I kept getting the same error message when I try to enter the key.

I have managed to successfully upgrade my 436 with Provoice/Dmr/NXDN.

I'm Sooooooo looking forward to getting the SDS100 !

What nxdn squelch setting is everyone using, external antenna vs indoor antenna?

Also seems squelch setting has to be much tighter with nxdn vs p25

I have not ever changed my squelch settings from 2 on any of my x36s and never changed the digital fine tuning from the default settings (Auto & 8 IIRC). All digital audio has sounded fine.

One 536 is on the stock back of set antenna, one 536 is on a Spectrumforce magmount (thru a Stridsberg multicoupler), and the 436 most often lives connected to an Austin Spectra mounted on my truck's fender.

That would be due to receiver desense from a strong local signal, or a bad coax connection somewhere, not poor antenna performance. Especially with 3 different antennas.

Nope. Heliax tests fine and works on other antennas. No strong TXs around on VHF and none that are moderately close that are on the air full time.

The Discone has no gain at all. Antennas with 6 dBd of gain work well.

As soon as NXDN is supported the price goes to $60. If you buy it now at 30 their will be no additional cost to you.

Do you mean another $30 over what you paid? They don't do that with PV or DMR, so I would imagine the Sentinel will still be free.

If you mean another $30 if you buy it then vs buying it now, likely yes. UPMan has stated that the discount is with the understanding that the SW is not yet available.
