Check sum?

Trying to purchase a key and I get the error that the check sum is not valid. I'm entering the 3 digit number under the ESN on the screen of my 436. What am I doing wrong?

Custom search nxdn

Here is a picture of the 536 nxdn custom search. This is not in my area I think it is coming from Alabama. I couldn't do much search since I had to go to work. This was happening when bands are opened up this morning.

UPGRADE NXDN

Now enter all the digits and dashes by rotating the “scroll Knob” on top of the radio.

Use the 4 and 6 keys on the radio to move the cursor forward or back.

When all digits and dashes have been entered push down on the scroll Knob to enter the entire Key code.

I'm pretty happy with it so far. The only other odd thing I've seen is that sometimes the scanner will stop on a TG, but there is no audio. Meanwhile, the audio can be heard on DSD+.

I seem to remember that there was something similar with Motorola trunking way back. I forget the details, but the scanner wouldn't process audio if it stopped on a TG midway through a conversation. From watching the display, I also note that when this happens, there is no UID displayed on the scanner, just the TGID.

I have been setting up the scanner since Pro Scan made NXDN support available, and have been seeing this oddity continue. I don't have DSD+ running, but on some random talk groups if a conversation is occurring, it flashes the talk group for a split second, then continues to scan (ID Scan Mode), when it returns to the talk group, I'll hear the end of the conversation. Non-specific talk groups it occurs on too.That would make it appear to me it's ignoring conversations in progress and none of the talk groups are encrypted.

I'm sure their will be future firmware upgrades, and hopefully this along with a few other tweaks can make this nearly perfect. This is a NXDN 4800 system, and don't know of any 9600 systems I can try this on in close proximity.

Other than that, I continue to be impressed of how good this decodes and follows conversations with the rare exception of whet I described. By no means is this a complaint, but a suggestion for the future upgrades which will probably occur.

As soon as NXDN is supported the price goes to $60. If you buy it now at 30 their will be no additional cost to you.

You need to use a 3rd party such as Scanner Master.

You might contact ScannerMaster. I think they handled some previous upgrades for non-US scanner owners. But, yes, they do charge a higher fee than the base Uniden cost.

I am not sure about the details but you might want to check US reality TV boards and ask there. This has come up with people from Canada and other countries who wanted to buy access to the US Big Brother live feeds from CBS All Access. I think it involved buying local US debit cards.

when running lcn finder on some nxdn systems and lets say it finds 6 of 8 ch's
is there abort lcn finder and have it save the currently found lcn's?

everytime i stop it and go look at the lcn's they are zero when it doesnt complete the run

Are you stopping by hitting FUNC-SYSTEM as it says on the screen? If so, it should give you the option to save what it found. Hit ENTER to save.

Press FUNC, then SYSTEM. It will ask if you want to save what it's found. Just say yes.

Yes - it's FUNC-System *first*, then ENTER.

If nothing happens when you hit ENTER, it didn't find anything.
