I noticed on the RR database today that the simulcast frequencies have changed for this system, mainly they deleted several frequencies on the system. My question is, will I still be able to hear the traffic on this system with my scanners that still have the old frequencies in it. All the current updated frequencies are still in the radio, I just have not removed the deleted frequencies from the simulcast system to match the new updated RR database info.

The frequencies that were removed from UHF Smartzone system have migrated over to the DOITT P25 System as the P25 system will probably replace the Smartzone system at sometime in the future.

As far as tracking the old system is concerned, you will not see any difference by keeping the deleted freqs since the Control Channel will direct the radio to the proper freq carrying the talkgroup activity.

Has the FD stopped repeating various incidents over this system? I feel like it has been several months since I’ve heard the HT radio traffic being rebroadcast on a 2nd alarm.

Would help to know what incidents, boro, division you are taking about.

But yes some divisions have migrated away to something else.

I don't think they've "migrated away," as I've been hearing them across the city on just about all jobs (so much so that one has to lock them out after awhile). The issue, I believe, is that the Deputy Chief's car has to remain running at the scene for the repeater to work but the chief's aides instinctively shut the car off upon arrival.

Nope, has nothing to do with it. Some divisions have been migrated away.

In my opinion the whole T band giveback ship has sailed long ago. DOITT is actively building out their UHF SZ system to P25, NYPD is continuing to upgrade their system to UHF P25 and Westchester is doing the same too.

Nowadays you have FirstNet and PTT directly linked to core (ie: BeOn and WAVE), all over existing cellular provider existing spectrum. I think neither FCC and State/Local govt no longer have the fiscal appetite to move everything off T band to another spectrum.

Whoever made a tons of money selling 700 systems and subscribers while pitching T band giveback must be grinning now.

AFAIK the DoITT P25 UHF system is currently in the clear for most TG's but the overall consensus is once its deployment is finalized and complete pretty much everything will be encrypted. So thats why most people are saying its unmonitorable.
