One other question regarding the BCT-15.

My setup with my 996 involves using the rear connection port to connect to a dedicated streaming computer, and the front port to connect to another computer for software programming and adjustments.

Does the BCT-15 have the same "two port" (front and rear) as the 996?

yep, 9 pin serial in the back, and the funky uniden serial in the front ... but you still can only use one at a time ...

Excellent. Actually, they do both work at the same time depending on what you are doing. The rear port of my 996 goes to one computer and connect to TalkgroupMonitor246T and pumps out all those alpha tags in the titles.txt file.

This continues uninterrupted while I control the scanner with the software UASD from another computer through the front port (change systems groups etc)

The only time they don't both work at the same time is when you "Write to Scanner" which makes sense.

On the subject of TalkgroupMonitor, did you send that file to Gordon? I did actually just buy the BCT-15 to split up the work the 996 does, and I would like to fix that problem we were discussing about continuous alpha tag streaming from titles.txt.

This actually looks very encouraging that Gordon is going to update the program for these new scanners

If any body can send for me a software UASD for bcd15 i be happy and wonderfull.
I'm living in Poland and no have a credit card( also try buy a butel software on line www.butel.nl) .For me is no way out to buy any software by the website.

I am sorry for your situation. However, the software you are asking about is covered by international copyrights. I would suggest you contact Butel by email and see if they can work out a method for you to pay for their software.

You can't download Butel without a credit card. However, I am sure you can get an international money order or certified bank check for the CD version +shipping, and send it to them. Butel is superior software, and IS worth the money.

In this time i programing BCT15 by the self ,i'm learning like(learning to Fly-Pink Floyd)
Also i find the bctool the free software toprogram BCT is the way also for me

To get things back on track, I received my BCT15 a few days ago and it works great. I am wondering if there is any way for me to boost the scanning speed. I have one conventional frequency that is my priority and I have it set to priority. I have only programmed 5 other conventional frequencies but I still seem to miss the first parts of conversations on my priority channel. Beartracker is off, as is any other feature. Thanks for any help!

Well, since Priority works by switching over to your priority channel to check for activity every 2 seconds, on average you are going to miss the first second of any transmission. There is no way to change the 2-second interval.

I called Uniden parts today and they do not have the BCT-15 front faceplate available and do not even list it as an available part..

I wanted to change my 996 with the black plate..

Is there anything else you can do to speed up the scanning? Which features can I disable and what do they do?
