Adding to my post above about running Pro-96 com,

I parked on a convenience store lot at the intersection of LA Hwy's 16 and 1024 in the area of Watson, LA in the West part of Livingston Parish and I was able to receive site 137 with a good solid unwavering 5 bars on the S meter. Pro-96 Com gave me a list of the surrounding sites including about seven that were already in the database with the control channels and site numbers that match what we have and in addition the following that we did not have:

Site 132, 764.20625, this is the new site somewhere in the Feliciana's probably in or near St. Francisville, see my post, #242 on page 13 about this one

Site 133, 764.70625

Site 136, 774.59375

Site 142, 770.30625

Site 143, 764.19375

I was not able to receive a signal from any of these from that location but I have used Site 132 before while I was in East and West Feliciana Parishes and in part of EBR.

Note that site 142 has a CC freq of 770.30625 which is out of the programmable range of 700 MHz trunking scanners. It lies inside the gap from 767 to 773 that is supposed to be for data.

It also gave me site 102 which is supposed to be Bridge City with a CC of 774.29375. Can anyone confirm if the Bridge City site has changed CC's?

As far as Bridge City, it may have just been an error; the CC for that site has not changed. Also, you may want to double check the System ID. I can receive, though distant, the Mississippi (MWIN) system in Kiln. It threw me off for a minute when it showed other towers that are in our system, but I then realized what I was hearing.

143 and 137 are both showing up as neighbors to Laplace and Hammond now, as well.

I am here in Bogalusa on family business and also doing some "Research on the LATIE System.

Hopefully I can get some talkgroups.

If anyone wants chat with me they can call 573-330-4583.

I will post what I get when I get home in Missouri on the 22 of June.

Additional Encrypted Traffic

While on an overnight trip to LaPlace on Saturday I picked up some additional encrypted TG's while on I-10 passing through the Crowley and Scott areas. It would appear (based on the numbers) that they belong to something in Vermilion Parish. I can't say for sure what tower this was coming from (I was after all driving :D ) but all in all this doesn't bode well for the folks in that area.

23505 Unk Encrypted
23509 Unk Encrypted (fairly busy)
23529 Fire Dispatch, unk location (in the clear)

I have not added (nor submitted these) to the DB since I have no idea who or what they are; however, if someone can come up with them and send them in, that would be great.

I will be in the Bogalusa area till the 19th of June. I have recieved several talkgroups with Bogalusa PD and Washington Parish SO traffic. The are in 385 range such as 38507,38509,38527 etc.

The traffic on the above groups sounds like law enforcement traffic.

I still would like to meet some of you that might be in the Bogalusa area. So just give me a call at the previous mention cell #.

Thanks

traveling through Northern LA

I am going to be traveling through LA on July 5th on Interstate 20 from Texas into Mississipi on our way to Destin, FL. I will be coming back through the same areas a week later. I am programming my scanner for the trip and was wondering if the whole state is now operating on the LATIE system. I'm trying to decide if I need to program it in my BCD396T since from what I've been reading in this thread everyone may not be using it yet. Thanks!

Unless someone proves me wrong (not unusual), Latie is still only in southern Louisiana. You should program in the States 800 system if going across I-20.

thanks for the answers but I got an everything south of I-10 is LATIE and an either or answer so does this mean that I need to program in both or will the statewide 800 system suffice? I'd like to have the State Police and local fire departments as I drive through...other than that if I miss some traffic it won't be a big deal. I won't be stopping anywhere in LA. Thanks for the assistance in helping me decide what to program. It's much appreciated! :)

If you are traversing the north part of the state (along I-20) you do not need the LATIE system programmed; it is not up there. A more accurate statement would be that the LATIE system is along I-10 and south of it.

If you are coming through on I-20 Program the 800 system, for troop F, the Calhoun and Tallulah sites. If you want the most active freqs for the ride through Ouachita Parish, PM me, I'll hook you up.

thanks so much for the clarity on the LATIE system along I-20. That will save me some more programming time! Much appreciated!

Maybe some body can help me, last night , I was doing an I d search and received tgid 10513. I know that 10501 is assigned to Ascension Sheriff, but could 10513 be another tgid for Ascension ?

Well I am back from Louisiana. Had to go and check on my Father. Who was in the Hospital. He is now out of the hospital and doing fine.

Well on to the scanning info. I was able to bring my new Uniden 396t Scanner with me on the bus, It made the trip shorter. but I couldn't get any info while on the bus. When I got to my destination that was another story.

I have sent all the info I gathered to the database. Some I was able to id one or two but the rest of I could not. Some of the sounded like unknown Law enforcement traffic from the New Orleans area and below New Orleans, La.

Not sure, we have had 10506 as an unknown LE/Fire for quite awhile now. I had to run in to NOLA for the weekend and once again, I have trouble when going through Ascension figuring out what tower they are using. Can some tell me what tower they are 100% on?

I pick up Ascension on the Geismar tower - Site 110. I haven't been listening to them on LATIE much, their Dispatch channel on their system was patched to the TG on LATIE last time I checked though.
