The only LEA that isnt on at night unless its an spec op is MDOT.... If Phase I is ready then you can expect the higher ranking MHP in D9, to have them running

Will keep advised, so you're pretty sure it's not getting a read from a couple of units in the McComb-Brookhaven area this far over

Ok all zone 1 gaps filled with the exception of 4 original sites and 1 additional site for MHP D8.

After a little sorting and studying of the data i've accumulated I have found the site numbers (10###) have a somewhat direct correlation to the /\/\ tower ids.(1##) so....

125 will be Pinckneyville, 126 will be Wilkinson County, 138 will be Jeannette, and 143 will be Jefferson North. Dunno if you can create empty entries in the DB or not.

The tower in Hattiesburg is loaded with only MW dishes at this time. No repeater operating on this tower at all that I could find. There was only a single whip antenna, that I saw, at the very top of the structure and it was much longer than the 700 Mhz whips on all the other towers. Btw it is a free-standing, tapered tower typical of all the other MWCC owned towers with the exception of MDOT Wayne, which is a guyed tower.

On the subject of MDOT Wayne while I'm thinking about it. Another oddity about this one is that it was located on a rather significant hill, but yet all of the equipment (shed, generator, propane tank, etc.) was built on an elevated structure about 10 feet above ground. LOL No clue what the thinking was there.

The other side of that is that Collins West is built in a pasture at the bottom of a pretty deep depression. This one is bound to get flooded at some point in time. Wonder if someone got some plans crossed up somewhere? LOL hmmm.....

MOT Tower ID: N/A
Site Name: Hattiesburg
Site Number: 10716
ASR#: 1264429 Status: Constructed 09/18/2008
Lat/Lon: 31.287472 -89.330611
Address: 1145 Richburg Road, Hattiesburg, MS

It's on the same piece of land as a Cellular South tower. A double gate is at the dirt road leading to it. No fence though, just the gates. Two Cellular South placards posted on the gates is the only info. I would have walked in but threatening weather was moving in and I didn't feel like getting drenched. (or struck by lightning either for that matter. LOL)

Just to add it is very visible from Hwy 11 too. East of I-59. Look for a cell tower and a tapered tower covered with domed microwave dishes right next to each other. There's also a guyed tower with a couple of dishes on it off by itself just a little to the west.

I that Agree Pinckneyville will be site 125, when it comes on line. Still no evidence that it's up and running. Will keep advised.

Incidentally, Pinckneyville tower site is 13 miles off of Highway 61 south of Woodville. The only access to it is a failrly well travelled gravel road. Makes you wonder what somebody was thinking, or drinking, to even put a tower in that location.

Oh, it's definitely a tower there. It'll probably come on line sometime within the next couple of weeks, once everything dries out down there.

I probably should have been clearer, the access to the gravel road is just a few miles south of Woodville on US61. The gravel road is in fact on the west side of 61 and that's where the 13 mile journey begins.
