Sounded pretty cool hearing Air Care 1 set down at Natchez Regional earlier this evening, when they loaded up to head back to UMC, said they had 4 on board, that had to include the crew didn't it. Could they possibly load 4 people on that thing?

UMC/AMR AirCARE can load a max of 2 patients... usually you have one patient, an pilot, air medic, and sometimes an ride along ER Doc.... So You could get 4 souls on board. The only air evac with more I ever heard about non military, was an CA team.. They airlifted 3 with an Huey (UH-1H) I listened to SEMAAD's Rescue 7 load one patient, one pilot, one medic, and a parent of the patient once on a wreck on 49 for a run to FGH.... I was stuck in traffic on way to USM during that one...

I think scanning enthusiasts are really going to be pleased with this new system, just hope they don't go crazy and try to encrypt everything

According to insiders... minimal encryption to be used.... Primarily MBN, MBI, FBI will use it... Ohh the NTNP will have a TG..... I used to monitor NTNP daily for years.. both the old analog VHF's.... Now you can hear the "DPW" side on two of the four VHF P-25 freqs.... and some firefighting.... ALL lea is encrypted on both of thier freqs..... But you can hear them talk to local SO's on the SO nets in the clear.. and with MHP.... Anyone done any National Forest monitoring, or the other National Park stuff for any changes???

That's correct, or they switch over to the maintenance channels, I'll check that out and let you know...

Yea, I've always loved how they get their base to unit call bass ackwards, 592 to 700 etc, instead of 700 to 592, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about

Right now Pro96Com is showing two radios active on the three towers that I can monitor, how far off do you think those units are, I'm asking because they have two units assigned on DUI detail in Adams Co. both are still out, apparently they already have mobiles installed in some of the Dist. 9 units, any thoughts?

Thats pretty standard procedure for NPS.. Same thing for Blue Ridge National Parkway, and for the Great Smokey Mountains National Park... "592, 700, 10-36... 592.... 10-36 with MS 28 XXX123, at milepost xx Standbye for 27..." Remember it well. though I also recal several times... "700, 592, 10-20?.. etc etc etc"

These units are within range of the three sites and thus affiliated... get audible confirmation of who they are... If MHP then they will call in like this... "M Mary 28 to Brookhaven..." And MHP B'haven of course calls out.. "Brookhaven M Mary 28..." Pro06COm also shows chan voice grants, and the affiliation list... if your monitoring on another radio you can watch the TG and hear it too...

Oh, I'm familiar with their protocol, i don't think they're actually dispatching yet, I just think they're already installed in the units. I doubt seriously there's any F%W units out this late
