Anybody know what TG’s
22950
22951
22952
22953
are for, I’ve seen previous posts with no answers. These TG’s are really active on the rankin county towers.
Also is Whitfield’s only TG 22350 or do they have another? I do not the hear Whitfield TG whatsoever on the rankin Towers.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Based off some past post... I'm thinking you are actually hearing the Whitfield talkgroups.. I believe they got entered into the database wrong as "223" instead of "229".

If you check rankin county tg's, you will see some of the listed ones for whitfield. 22950 and 22953 are listed with 950 being law dispatch and 953 being transport. I do not know what the others are, however 22350 and 22351 are also listed. I never hear traffic on those 2. I do receive 22950 and 22953 quite regularly.

OK, I stand corrected. They are not listed on Rankin County. I found and listed them on my favorites. I guess the change needs to be submitted.

I saw a blip this morning on the Airspy that I'd previously been ignoring, so I went to find it. Turned out to be 1-98, which doesn't exist in the DB here. A little looking and it is listed as 2-98, the SOW in Sarah. Currently parked across the street from USM Gulf Coast PD office.

It was only allowing affiliations from Marine Patrol, USM and the Capitol PD TGs. MHP and MDOT kept getting denied as well as a Hancock SO radio.

Just a minor update, this SOW is still at USM Gulf Park and will be there until USM "decides to join Harrison County or MSWIN expands to the Coast better". <--Direct quote from a USM staffer in the know.

Harrison County will be going to MSWIN, the million dollar question is when? It was Katrina that hit the coast and we had no communications with them and so on...at least we have MSWIN as a direct result of Katrina! It's frustrating to say the least when other agencies are trying to contact them, EMA has a MSWIN radio but I'm not sure about Sheriff's Dept.

I live in one of the holes, at the Gulfport/Biloxi border along pass. Zero coverage, even on the external antenna. Go a mile either way and it comes back, but that's a fairly bad hole. One of my neighbors is a Trooper; he's told me he has to resort a his cellphone in the area. he said there's also a big gap along the 609 in OS, but I haven't checked that area.

Does anybody know in Jackson ms if this hospital:
G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center uses the MSWIN? I did notice a 7/800 MHz Motorola mobile antenna on the roof of one of their patrol cars. I know it’s a federally owned facility, I just wonder if anyone knew. Their VHF frequency hasn’t been active in quite some time. If anyone knows any information would be appreciated. Thank you!

While MSWIN is a great system Mississippi does not owe Katrina for MSWIN. If you go back and read the minutes form some of the older WCC meetings, they were working on the state system several years before Katrina hit. Now did the huge infusion of cash from the Federal Govt help, why sure, but MSWIN was gonna happen anyway, Katrina just accelerated it.
