Next we need an list of DeSoto TGs... we cant ID the LEA as they are encrypted, but we can at least have an TG list.. The fire ones should all be clear. Also folks, start watching the Warren TRS sites closely....

I was passing through DeSoto and ran Pro96Com on the new site. Also did Lewisburg. Unfortunately, my time was limited, so I only saw a few talkgroups and affiliations before I got back on the road. But here's the screenshots of the site information.

LINCOLN Co. MISWIN

Hello to the forum, I have a friend who lives in Lincoln County Mississippi and he monitors the MISWIN system. They have noticed the past few days on the SO and MHP TG's that the dispatch transmissions have fallen off during a transmission and the part of the conversation is missed. Also they have noticed it happens sometimes with the units in the field. Has anyone on the form experience this either in Lincoln County or within the MISWIN system ?

Thanks

Hello! More info needed: Type of scanner, site being monitored, distance from said site, type of antenna?

It sounds like the scanner is not following all the frequencies and missing them.
This can be from a bad antenna on the mswin end (bad coax) or the units are on another tower and dispatch is on one, ooooorrrr the unit automatically swiches to the other closer tower.
Just a few ideas that pop to mind

My friend is using a Whistler WS 1080 scanner and held, stock antenna, they are approximately 11 miles south southeast of the tower site. They noticed this has been going on the past 2 weeks. Before that point they have had no issues in monitoring the system.

Suggestion 1: Program in all the closest sites (There are 2 in Lincoln County, and at least 3 others you should be able to hit in the surrounding area depending where in the County you're at.) as you may be losing signal to units moving out of 1 sites area into another. Also invest in a better antenna ASAP, the stock rubber duckies suck. Clean your antenna connective points with an swab and rubbing alcohol. Hope that helps somewhat.

Fire TG's are also encrypted. I haven't heard anything in Desoto County that was in the clear since they switched. Even routine public works is encrypted.

Shame, DeSoto will be the first and looks like only ones to go completely dark.

Well being so close to Memphis, maybe they feel the need to hide what there normal ops are, and the public do not care, and that is sad cause i did enjoy listening to them for a good long time.
Well welcome to the p25 age folks!

New site is Hinds County Simulcast, Site # 2-56, TY riccom for the data. JPD, and CPD using it so far, expect everyone else to go live on it soon as they convert more and more from the HCTRS 800 over to MSWIN P25. Warren conversion and transition will be in 2 to 3 months, then expect more work in DeSoto as they convert that whole system over. Then should be the Tunica flip, and by Fall I expect the Camp Shelby simulcast, and Parchman site to be near completion if not online, which will bring MSDOC on.
