guys, thanks for all of the help. I truly appreciate it. In fact, I have woken up early this morning to try to confirm the issue, to see it time of day, sun location, weather, clouds, atmospheric conditions have a role in this... it very well may, because this morning all seems very clear and I still have settings set to default. I only wondered if advanced settings for P25 digital, via tweaking thru my PSRedit software would have yielded me cleaner reception. I know that there are unmuting thresholds and similar time delays and signal detections that are tweakable, and wondered if a form of unmuting or earlier unmuting of the signal may have helped to clear it up when I experienced the issues... I am pleased with the way it sounds this morning, and I hope that the issues were due to the radio company who switched the system and completed the systems rebanding... The rebanding was completed a few days ago and I hope the system needs to tweaked by them as opposed to it being a weather or atmosphere condition. Here in sunny Florida, we experience all types of weather, and I hate to think that I have to rely on the weather for clear comms. The system sounded so clear in the past. Have a great day

Hi all, I have recently learned thisand it makes alot of sense to me... It sounds like a high Bit Error Rate (BER) at the repeater receiver. There is nothing you can do to your scanner to change it if it is occurring at the repeater. Multipath is often the culprit which causes Faded Reference Sensitivity issues and high BER’s.

its just a tidbit regarding my P25 situation, but I hope it helps other people with similar problems.

Hi I love the software you have created. I was wondering if there is a way to put a radio id # in my pro 106 with your Software. Thanks for making the software and i enjoy using it.

Yes:

Switch to the trunked objects tab, select the correct system, then right click on the talkgroup list and select add new talkgroup option.

In the Talkgroup field, enter the radio ID you want, then set the talkgroup type to Private. Set any other options you want and then save the object.

I am using the latest version of PSREdit and I am not getting anything when I program a radio id into the PSR500 radio.

Any thoughts ?

I can see the id's being used on Etrunker.

Currently, only selecting all conv and then individually the entire contents of each TSYS (I have quite a few) will allow clearing hit counts (or individual freq/TGRP).

I'd like to reset hit counts of the entire current memory in one step/click.

This is easy to do in the scanner. I'll look into what it would take to do that in the software.

To do this in the scanner, press PGM, F3 (GLOB) and the scroll down to the Clear Hits option.

I didn't realize it was that easy to do in the scanner. Since it is, it's probably not worth your time to add to the software. If you want to anyway, let me know & I have some ideas that could save significant programming time.

I'm always open to suggestions. I have an unrelated project that's been keeping me pretty busy lately, but I'll implement what I can when time is available.

PSREdit error and freezes

I was editing freqs. I went to save them and they saved. I attempted to go into another editing and got this error message:

Access violation at address 005042A4 in module "' PSREdit500.exe '.Read of address 00000010.

I clicked " OK " and got another identical error message. I clicked " OK " again and attempted to exit program when the program froze on me.

It seems to happen after a few conventional/trunk edits.

I have to use Task Manager to fully exit the program and sometimes when I do, it completely erases my bin file.

I am using Windows Vista. I never had this problem occur up until a program update awhile back. I constantly update my PSREdit, so I am currntly using V1.86R9B183 and still get this error message at times. I have trashed all previous files of PSREdit and redownloaded also and still get the error message at times.

Ok, looks like the program is attempting to access unallocated memory. Can you give me more details on exactly what you did leading up to this error (i.e. what button you clicked/Menu item you selected).

I tried exiting the program and it froze on me. I then had to exit through the Task Manager. That time it wiped out my entire bin file. As in nothing I had in the file was there. Just blank on everything but the standard start up info as though starting the program for the first time after downloding program. So I cleared out all files associated with PSREdit including a registry cleaning through CCleaner and redownloaded the program. Then redownloaded from scanner. Now, if I try to copy paste from one object, i.e. alpha tag info, or if i try changing the object id, clicking out of the edit screen for that object and trying to open another object edit window makes the same error message come up. I have found so far that when the program freezes and I have to use Task Manager, there are 2 PSREdit instances listed, and if I click the bottom one rather than the top one, my bin file hasn't erased itself for now.

I was able to download everything I was looking for except the new LWIN codes here in Louisiana.

When I open the software and go through the tabs to download everything, the LWIN is not showing up.

I picked up a second scanner yesterday (Pro-164) and this morning downloaded the new trial version of PSREdit 300.
I was able to download everything I was looking for except the new LWIN codes here in Louisiana.

When I open the software and go through the tabs to download everything, the LWIN is not showing up.

I'm confused...

IIRC, LWIN is a P25 digital exclusive system. PSREdit300 filters out systems the PSR-300 and similar scanners cannot monitor from the RadioReference.com web service.

Thanks for the reply. I am picking up some 700mHz police traffic here around Baton Rouge on the 164; but that is ok. I still have the PRO-106!!!

On a second note.

I installed the trial version of PSREdit300 software AND the PSREdit500 software on my laptop (running Vista) and both of them worked perfect with NO issues.

So, I can say that Vista is good to go with the PSREdit software! I'll definitely be buying the license key this week!

RR import

i have PSREdit500_1.82Release4 and it wont import from the rr database correctly
anything i select in the ohio marcs it sends the first site only even when its not checked everytime
no matter what sites i select
