It's also somewhat bad when you've been generating keys automatically for 5.5 years and get 10+ "help I lost my key" messages every day, and didn't have the foresight to expect such losses - and therefore didn't put a mechanism in place a long time ago via which people could retrieve a key by email address.

I don't even want to imagine having to do that.

Thanks again for the recommendation, I think this will be better in the long run for me, and the users of my software. :)

After updating to version 1.85 for PSREdit500, and getting/inputing my new key, I cannot use PSRCtrl500 without locking my enitre computer up after 20 seconds or so. It isn't just the program that stops working, it's the entire computer. The program worked perfectly fine prior to me downloading the latest/greatest version today. Any ideas?

Just for clarification I am only having a problem with the scanner control program. The programming software works fine, as it always has. I input the new key with no problem. It's just the control program that is suddenly giving me a headache.

PSREdit v1.85 r1 b162

I used PSREdit v1.85 r1 b162 for the first time today after downloading earlier this week. My intial start up was with the Edit program and it did not want to connect with my COM4. I then started Control and was able to connect to COM4. However, when I tried to END SESSION, it would not end. I had to use task manager in Windows Vista laptop to end the Control program. I then restarted Edit and I was able to connect to my COM4.

Unfortunately it's a known issue that I'm working on. You should be able to use the older version of PSRCtrl500 if you still have it.

PSRControl

I downloaded v1.85 r2 b165 tonight, I started PSRControl first, it started and was working and I also got this error message:

Access violation at address 00438598 in Module 'PSRCtrl500.exe'. Read of address 00000000.

I then closed the error box and the program was still running. I tried to end the session but was unable to without using Vista's task manager. I then opened PSREdit fine and closed it fine. I tried restarting PSRControl again. This time it said sesssion started but there was nothing in the display. I tried closing it again and again had to use Vista taskmanager to close and end the program.

Ok, The first issue is a null pointer, which I'll see if I can find. With the last release, I've tried constantly to get the software to crash without success. I'll keep trying to find this though. I did find one area where some serial port conflicts were possible and have coded around that, but I'm not having any luck getting the program to crash.

Problem loading frequencies for a trunked system

I am trying to load a trunked system into my Pro106 using the latest version of PSREdit - version 1.85 Release 3 build 166. The system is for UCSC in Santa Cruz county California. The problem is that the talkgroups load but the frequencies do not. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Thanks,

-Pete

That system has no control channels specified, so you would need to use the all frequencies option in the site import screen (it should be selected as the default). It worked fine here.

I suspected a problem with the database. Since I noticed the problem with win500 as well. However now that I try it again it does import.

I have another question. How do you change an attribute for a group of objects. Say I have a bunch of objects that I want to move to another scan list. Is there a way to do that all at once or do I have edit each one individually?

Thanks,

-Pete

Thanks

I just wanted to take a moment to say that I got this software a while ago and it's great. Thank you for such a great product.
I tested all three programs and one I didn't like at all while the other was very nice with some awesome features but neither of them had the one overriding feature which yours does which made the final decision for me in purchasing your program and that is the ability to import multi-site systems.

How others can't in this day and age with so many MS systems out there I don't know but you're the only one who has a program which does it.

Again thanks for an awesome program

Win500 (I presume that's one of the "all three programs" you tested) does import multi-site systems - within the confines of how the scanner handles multi-site systems. That is, all site CCs go into a single TSYS object. (If you want to create multiple TSYS objects to handle more sites/CCs than will fit in a single scanner TSYS object, that's pretty easy in Win500: import selected sites, each group into its own TSYS, then copy/paste the TGRPs from one TSYS to all the others.)

Hi again Don and yes yours was one of the three. The one that I really liked except for that issue. If you've fixed it since we talked last then that's great to hear and I guess I should have mentioned that it's been a month or so since we did. But at the time it didn't do that and after writing to you asking if I was doing something wrong you responded that yours didn't do it. So it left one for me to choose. Both yours and this one are great programs but in the end it was the MS import ability of this one that made the choice for me. With this one it's click on the import feature, select system, select sites and then select TGs assign scanlist and import. IF there are more than the 32 CCs w/ALTs that you allow this program automatically creates a second TS and imports that as well along with associated TGs for said systems.
It makes it really nice especially for large multi site systems like Star Com21, Safe-T and Racom IA/Il amongst others.
As an example right now in my Iowa folder there are 18 Racom systems loaded broken into 4 geo areas of Council Bluffs, Davenport, Des Moines, and Cedar Falls. This required 4 import actions and it was all done.
You have a great program as I said in the PM when we spoke but for me as I also said the lack of MS import functionality was something I couldn't live without although your TG import selection process is by far the best out there to me.

Now if you and Mike would combine resources to make a Mega-Program you can put me down to buy it :)

Win500, ARC500 will multi site import by ticking the desired boxes. ScanControl will DG Paste multi site also by copy of desired towers.
