Mike,

In version 1.31, I am unable to find the Attenuation menu settings like for GLOBAL on/off ect, has it moved?

That option was removed a few versions back due to the way the radio treats those settings. There's no way to be sure that the radio will honor the settings, so it was best to remove them.

Latest Version

Wow!

The scanner control feature is awesome! The look and feel of it is the same as the scanner itself. When I downloaded it I was out of town on a business trip. It was so cool looking at the radio on the laptop sceeen.

I just love the new sort feature too. What a great piece of software, never leave home without it now. Keep up the great work.

I uploaded version 1.30 to the web site last night. PSREdit now has remote control capability of the PSR-500, and object sorting options.

PSREdit software for the 600

I have a PSR-600 on order, and it should be shipping soon. My question is, is the PSREdit software ready for the PSR-600 scanner?

I am liking what I see about the PSREdit software.

I don't have a PSR-600 yet to be able to test with, but from what I've been able to see in the programming spec, it should be all set for it. The primary changes are in the backlight area, and a dim setting for the LED.

Scanner Control Request

Hi:

I just got my PSR-600 yesterday and have been playing around with PSREdit 1.38. I'm glad that the scanner control mimics the look of the PSR-600. Thanks for that.

REQUESTS: I see that you can't resize the scanner control or minimize the parent window behind it. (1) Can you look into providing differehnt size options for the scanner control (including a mini version LCD)? (2) Can you also make it so the parent window can be minimized so that only the scanner control is on the desktop?

Thanks and great job so far!

Yep, I'm looking into all of that. The layout is actually a bitmap image, which is part of the issue with resizing. I'll see what I can come up with though.

BTW I think I've come up with a good way to detect what type of scanner is actually connected to the computer, so I can make the background on the scanner control be automatic. I hope to release that sometime today.

Thanks Mike. If you're in a position to provide an "estimate" for making the suggested changes to the scanner control, that would be appreciated. I think that would be a real winner for the software.

Nice job so far!

Not at the moment. My work life has been very demanding over the last couple weeks (even with the holidays) so there hasn't been much time to work on the program. Hopefully I can get back to spending some quality time working on the program soon.

I am trying to set up the Kansas (KSICS) statewide system. There are 75 total frequencies with currently 23 different control or alternate control channels. Is the limit per system 32 and will it remain that way? I was hoping to be able to put all 75 frequencies into the program or maybe split it into the different KHP Troops. Any ideas on this?

Richard, all voice frequencies will be ignored in your TSYS frequency listing. The active control frequency in your listing will assign the voice frequency to a talkgroup without the frequency being listed. Use the current 23 controls and alts only for the TSYS listing.

Also, consider how you want to use in range control frequency. Options are in the TSYS Object Editor, Off, Roam or Stat (stationary).

Version 1.39 Error

Hi Mike:

FYI - I downloaded version 1.39 today to test the 2 new features you added. Those worked fine, but I've started to receive the error show below. I did not receive this error on the previous 1.38 version.

The 32 frequency limit is a limit imposed by the radio, so there's not anything I can do about that. All you really need in there are the control channels and maybe the alternates anyway, so the 23 should fit in a single TSYS object with no problem.

Was there any particular function of the program you were working in when this error appeared?

Like others have said, all you need is the control channels. It makes no difference if you put all the frequencies in there, it'll only take up space and memory. And being that the system you're monitoring is a full P25 9600 system, those rarely change or cycle control channels unless there's something really wrong going on. Our system up here has gone almost a year since I saw 1 site using an alternate control channel and that was only for a few hours at most.

No. The error appears after leaving the scanner running for a while. Both times I've seen it, I was not actively working in the software.

Thanks - Mike

Is there a Dr. Watson log on your machine perhaps that might give me a pointer on where to look?

Where on my system does the Dr. Watson get dumped? I'll look for it if you can direct me to where it would be. My OS is XP2 Professional.

Thanks - Mike

P.S. It happended once more yesterday.
