One thing I was thinking about, would it be possible to add a NEXT and PREV button to the TGRP edit page so that you can open the first TGRP make your changes then hit NEXT and it saves the current data and cycles to the next record in the list. The same for PREV as well. Just a thought that would be nice, at least in my opinion. Thanks!!!

Kris

I second that idea!

I'm trying to come up with a good way to do this. With the current design there's not an easy way to do this at the moment. I will eventually do something in this area. I'd like to make it easier to enter new talkgroups as well, and this would play into that nicely.

It seems that everytime I update PSREdit and then upload to the radio I get a "checksum" error. It makes the radio reboot and deletes all files in the radio.
I then re-upload and everything is fine.
Using WINXP and version 1.12 of PSREdit.
Anyone else having this occur?

My guess would be a timing error on the upload. I'll add an option to add extra delay to see if it'll resolve this one.

That would be awesome. I will wait patiently I know it all takes time being an old software engineer myself.

Mike,

Do you have an approximate time frame for the inclusion of the Radio Reference import feature in this software? I realize you're working out some other issues right now, and I know you've mentioned that it's forthcoming. I'm sure it's difficult to make a committment and I would hope that no one will hold you to it, I certainly won't. To be honest I've been evaluating and holding off on registration hoping that this feature would be implemented. I've become very used to using your interface and find it easy to work with. The RR import feature would really make it for me, and others I'm sure.

If this was answered elsewhere I missed it. Thanks.

On another note, is there/will there be a way to center the Scan List alpha tags?

As far as timeframe for the RR Import, I can't give anything definitive. Unfortunately I'm working from scratch on this area and have no previous code to work with. I'm making progress on it, and should hopefully be able to get it into the program in at least a beta mode by the end of the month. Since this will probably be after most people's demo period has expired, I will consider issuing a temporary key when the feature is released for people to try it to see if they like it.

Scanlist Name Center: There's no way to do that at the moment (other than manually), but I'll add it to the wishlist.

Mikey,

Suggestion for those of us who run evals to the bitter end. When the evaluation ends, the dialog box opens and tells us the eval is over, asks for our name and serial number. Then there are four boxes. The first three say "register" and the last says 'serial number'.

In order to clear the dialog I had to go to task manager's process tab and kill the PSRedit executable file.

Could you check this out and put a cancel button there as well.

BTW I ordered the software, just haven't gotten the key yet (only like ten minutes ago so take your time, I did).

I figured Mike had his hands working on a drumstick not a keyboard. :D

Mike,

As I was thinking about it, I am not sure I saw a canel button the demo, but then I never had a reason to canel.

Unfortunately I don't have any control of those buttons. The Protection Wrapper does that aspect of the licensing. You should have recieved your key by now. If you haven't let me know.

Copy And Paste Question From Arc996 To This Prog. ?

Hello,

Just downloaded the program.

I have a Uniden 996 scanner that I use Butel Arc996 to program.

Have tons of frequencies that I would like to transport to this program for subsequent
uploading to the GRE 500.

At least, the frequencies and Alpha tags I would settle for, and I would then enter the rest of the required info. individually and manually.

Is it possible to do a Copy and Paste from Arc996 of the freq's and Alpha tags to this program ? How, specifically, please ?

Tried, but cannot see how to do it.
The idea of having to do 1,000+ frequencies individually isn't too inviting.

Thanks,
Bob

Unfortunately at the moment, you would have to copy and paste each field individually at this point... I'll work on copy and paste as soon as I can get the Conventional RR import completed, which should be in the next few days.

Radio Reference Import

The latest version has both trunked and conventional RR import. Works great .

V Folders

Hi,

Not too sharp with this stuff.

Could you perhaps, please, give a brief paragraph or so on how one puts the desired Objects into individual V Folders using the program, and once has the V Folders populated, then uploads the V Folder configurations to the scanner ?

Thanks,
Bob

A VFolder is a complete configuration of the scanner. A VFolder includes all settings from weather, to LED Color, Keyboard Beeps, and all conventional, trunked, sweeper, and search objects that you want the scanner to be able to listen to once it's loaded into active memory.

VFolders are great if you travel a lot, or have a need to change the configuration on occasion based on what's going on in the area you are in.

PSREdit handles VFolders by uploading and downloading a complete VFolder to or from a .bin file.

To upload a configuration to a VFolder, follow these steps:

* Create a scanner configuration (this could be your main file that you're working with now)

* Connect the radio to the USB cable and the cable to the computer.

* Select the "Radio" menu, and then the "Enter VScanner Mode" option

You should see the VScanner Processing screen at this point, with a list of the currently loaded VFolders on the left side.

* Click on the VFolder location you would like to upload this configuration to, and then click on the Upload button.

* Navigate to the location of the .bin file you want to place in that VFolder location and select the file.

* Click on the "Apply Actions" button to complete the upload to the scanner.

Note: You can set up multiple upload actions for each VFolder you want to upload. You can even set up the action list to download the current contents first, before uploading new configurations if you like.
