Ohio National Guard...

While running around the Buckeye State on Tuesday, April 5th I was hearing the ONG on TG 2016. They were throwing out the call signs Rough Rider, Trans 01 and Trans 02. Seems like Rough Rider was the base or command canter and Trans 01 and 02 were transport buses. They were talking about arrival, departure and number of packs. Also heard some transmissions about "meet you at the rest area in a few". Meaning maybe they were on the move getting somewhere for training. I started pick up the TG while going south on I-71 around the 169mm and continued hearing it down into the Middletown area on I-75 at the 32mm. On my way back north along the same route I also heard the same type of transmissions. I started hearing them around 9am and last word I heard was at about 8:30pm.

C-5A 70-0457 left Patterson today on its final flight to AMARG. This is technically the last C-5 they had (69-0003 is in flyable storage at KCEF and will be retired soon).

Does anyone listen to the 910th AW out of this airport? I pick up very little while over in that area. I can't say that I have ever heard any of the 141's or 130's that are doing touch downs. I have done searches for MilAir and programmed in the frequencies from the database. If anyone has any info throw it out here for all to see. Mostly I just hear "Aircraft Maintenance CH 1". I have the NAC for that freq. also. It's 293. Also Security shows a NAC of 293 but I have not really heard anything that sounds like security.

Okay, there are a couple here not listen in the database. You should submit them to be entered. I will put them in and see if I can pick up anything more then I already don't, so to speak. Thanks for the info.

I had a hit on 119.500 (tower) yesterday at 6:38pm (EST) several times.
had several other scanners running at that time and by the time i got them all turned down
there was no more transmissions, but I was able to hear the tower and it was loud and clear, will continue monitoring...

I copied traffic again

119.500 (tower) at 8:15am (EST)
119.500(tower) at 9:27am (EST)
238.825(battlestar ops) at 9:31am (EST)

All traffic was loud and clear

Uniden BCT15
ST2 Antenna @(only) 20'
GRE Amp 3001 (base model) 20db gain (full open)

I was sure I would never hear anything from them, I am way down in a whole at my location, at 20' antenna height,it's barely over my house top and surrounded by 60-80' tall tree's. I am Very Surprised..

119.500 is air plane to tower and is not the actual tower com.
Youngstown Regional Airport and has nothing to do with the air wing mil air

But it does, Mil-Air will use the frequency just like all the other traffic in and out. The UHF tower freq and perhaps os,me of the other will have the same traffic as found on VHF as the tower is often simulcast.

Agreed, I have listened to Vadar to tower many times, still cannot receive any ground coms from anyone, my location and lack of good antenna will leave me in the dark as far as ground coms go until I get that fixed. Can't wait for Spring to get here.

You may also want to keep an eye on 384.7. This used to be the main Vader/Battlestar frequency for many years in AM mode. A few years back when I still travelled through this area frequently, they moved to 238.825 AM for main ops and started using 384.7 in FM mode with a CTCSS of 156.7. At the time, it seemed like they were using 238.825 AM for Air to Air and 384.700 FM for Air to Ground.

Toledo's F-16s are headed to Dayton for the airshow - any idea what freq's I might program in for them?
