I heard that from a 122nd maintainer at the Indy Air Show, but forgot to post it. They already have one A-10 there (-A, I think) for maintenance training. These will be the first four for flight ops.

I'm not sure what you're talking about with Buckeye being quiet - Springfield is still flying daily ops. I've heard them up a lot this week, though it's usually just basic ACM.

In the early 80's I worked at Baer Fld when the 122nd flew F-4's, you can't imagine the access we had to those F-4's. Nobody was around and we could walk the flightline and lurk around the hangar. I bet if you tried that now you would get shot. Baer Fld back then was dead after 5-6pm so there where alway tankers,C-141,C-5 and A-10's in the pattern doing touch and go's. You could get really close when they took off, the F-4E was impressive during takeoff, black smoke and all.

Ravenna Arsenal

I don't know if ya all consider the Ohio National Guard as real military but..... there is a lot of activity up here in the northeast part of the state at the Ravenna Arsenal. I started hearing it on Wednesday with radio techs setting up shop. The ONG is also using an Admin Demo TG for parking lots. Red and Blue lots with vans and buses running enlisted along with visitors back and forth. You can also listen to the commanders watching the guard units while out doing... well what the guard calls maneuvers. Nothing like the Marine Corps maneuvers I have been involved in. However even the weekend warriors have to be praised for what they do for our country! Good job guys!!!!!!!!
