With today’s multi channel scanners, why not just program it in? As has already been said, nobody here knows what factors at your location would impact your ability to hear it. In the time it takes to you to post and someone to respond, you could have heard it by now.

Before I program these in I want to know if they are the right ones for the airport just so I don’t waste time in putting inactive TG

If anyone in the Ottawa area that can help I would really appreciate it a lot 😊

Due to the need for details from the DSD Event file for the Bayshore system I am going to post here what I logged. This issue as you can see is the tags were logging as general numbers and not the actual tags associated due with each frequency.
Carleton U(TG 31) and Bayshore RID numbers(1) showed up when I was logging and it got me confused.
Below I removed the ones that were wrongly associated, but I would prefer not to waste my time to fix this and link the frequency I'm monitoring with the TGs.
Is there a way to do this or is it something that has to be done with other software? I edited on site for airport related tags. I am still waiting for my second SDR to arrive in the mail to properly be set up for more advanced listening/data

This is part of the post that has the TG I posted I hope this help a bit ?

In the time it took you to post this, you could have programmed them in and determined if they were active or not. Seems like asking on here is more of a waste of time then just programming them in.

@mikewazowski is this info good enough to to know this TG are for airport ?
I would have no idea as I'm not local to your area. Why not program them in your scanner and see what you hear?

I did :) but i think it’s quite at night time so im hoping I would have activity in the morning

I just put this on hold no voice. I do believe this is good sign that it the right one just need to wait for voice.

This make sense right ?

I'm here a lot
You are posting excessively every few minutes. I believe you are driving people away by doing this, that is exactly opposite to what you want. They will ignore what you post as it is a nuisance.

You found an active control channel. Listen, don't post until you actually hear something.

The frequency in your screenshot doesn't seem to have anything to do with Security Screening at the airport. Not sure what you're trying to accomplish.

I did put in the airport site in, but I am too far away from that. The site Kanata has the airport coverage in the circle ⭕️ as for TG ID I found those from old post I put those in.
I could try the airport site again and report back but the site I have now has the airport range in the circle ⭕️ 30

@mikewazowski this photo is from my Kanata site it has 30 range

Ok, so after doing some research I found out that Airport TG IE 71-11 are on its own airport site, the one that has the range of 2. So what I was thinking that if I had other sites that has the airport coverage in it, would those TG ID also be heard on that site? What I am asking is in order for me to hear those, can I program the other sites near me with the airport in range?

A lot of the localized system require you to be near them as you have discovered. Sometimes though you can pick them up further away than you think especially if your up high or have a good antenna/scanner set up.

I doubt the airport coverage would be drifting to multiple sites.

But again... you have the tools and you are in the area. You need to try and see what works and what doesn't, it's the best way of learning in this hobby.

Yes, I totally agree. I do know that one system has shuttle bus and fuel and the main site has operations. I was going to try and program site that has my area in range and the airport and try it. Worth a try right? Shuttle is okay, but I would like to hear operations.

Okay so it turns out that the AI tool I use tells me that I can’t listen to a Cap + system because they are only other Cap+ sites in range of me.
But, I don’t mind how to find if there are any.
But what I do know is that I can listen to the shuttle bus and I can hear Air Canada comm's in Kanata. That shouldn’t be any problem, so I would have that and shuttle and the fuel truck.

You're making things way more difficult for yourself and likely missing things and not learning properly from using that AI tool.

Program things in. See if you receive them.

We are way better than any AI. You easily have 40+ years of scanning expertise in this thread alone. We understand learning scanners is an uphill battle. I see from your posts that you are learning stuff as you go. Keep up the process and everything will get easier and easier.

Thanks Gary, if it's okay I will post a TAFL link for Air Canada I found, and if you know how I can program that would be great!

@gary123 I heard from @hunterca that I won't be able to program the airport site itself as it Cap Plus and it is out of my area. I am going try and program the shuttle bus and see what I can come up with. That Air Canada site is DMR, I believe the CC is 8. I found that from looking through old posts. I will see what else I can find so you can have more info to see.
