Has anyone heard of TGID 13737?

I have four transmissions, all P25E on the following frequencies: CC: 857.6125 V: 854.0375, 854.6875 on 11/7/24. They came up on the Philadelphia 800 site 083 (PHIL02).

The combination of 857.6125/854.0375 has an RID of 1954010. All others were N/A.

I checked the TG research wiki, cross-checked the frequencies for all US TRS systems and checked all of those systems for that TGID. Also, I looked at Worcester County, MD's TRS, because I get TGIDs from that system as wildcards on the STARNet system. I did a search for 13737 in the PA forum.

I'm afraid to add it to the TG research wiki, because there are no 13XXX TGIDs listed.

Any thoughts?

Are any other Counties thinking of going to this system or merging their P25 systems into this one? I know here in TN counties and cities are just now getting on TACN the past few years

PA-STAR Net is not designed for the needs of county or municipal users in a broad sense as it is essentially a mobile-on-street system.

Just about every County in PA has spent or is spending MILLIONS to upgrade their systems. STAR NET could not handle the demands nor would the Governments give up the control they have over every aspect. Welcome to the Commonwealth of Fiefdoms.

In actuality, StarNet is running a few counties... but those counties invested in the RF Infrastructure to provide portable coverage where they needed/wanted it. Additionally, you far underestimate what a Motorola ASTRO25 M Core controller can do. A lot of simulcast cells can be thrown on the second controller (aka Zone 3). And with every major version upgrade Motorola does on the system core the capabilities are always growing.

ICORRS is a totally standalone system because ICORRS was in operation long before the P25 StarNet system was implemented. Same with many other regional systems. It comes down to operational concerns more than anything.

If County A is on StarNet and neighboring Counties that work with them in terms of response on a daily basis are on their own system, interop communications become a little more cumbersome. All going on their own system makes interop way easier.

As always, just my $4.25 (2 cents adjusted for inflation and fuel surcharge), YMMV, no warranty expressed or implied.

Have a great one!

When I say demand of the system, I do not mean it’s capabilities. I’m talking about the frivolous demands of the end users.

A.k.a. Tantrums with stomping and blowing snot bubbles when they don’t get their way…….

Every system has that issue. Including ICORRS, including Fayette when we ran our own Smartnet system. Pretty much we tell the end users with frivolous demands- 1) we own the equipment on the back end needed to make all this work, 2) the FCC licenses for all of this is ours, and 3) to bring this feature/option on that you want will cost us $X to deploy, and $Y to maintain under our maintenance and software agreements. Are you willing to pay for them?

We don't usually make it past the first point.

Go to the database page then click on each site name in question and you'll get a summary of where the towers are. Click on each callsign and take note of the frequencies listed. If the frequency listing is identical for each site then yes it is simulcast. Welcome to the forums!

Since you inquired about Indiana County, yes it is simulcast

Probably the traffic on TGID's 10200-10201 Encrypted.

In addition to PSP, the CST is active there as they are evey year (also encrypted). Beyond that, I haven't been in the area this week to see what's popping up. Most of the traffic would be isolated to probably 2 or maybe three tower sites in Harrisburg. There is a site right across the road from the Farm Show that would end up carrying most of the traffic. I don't really know what the Farm Show staff are carrying for person to person comms in recent years.

Farmshow staff had disgusting old CP200 style radios. I don’t think they were even D models. I thought I’d see some trbo stuff there given the new WQTM924 license. Years ago I saw parking attendants using trbo with basic privacy on SL series radios. I don’t remember if it was simplex or a repeater without looking at my radio. But I didn’t see any STARNET activity beyond PSP and even many of them had their radios turned down or off.
