Ok. That's good information. These 6208 MIB guys passed through here again and I got more pictures of the same black truck, this time with a passenger on board. Same RIDs and about the same time of day. Sheriffs, you say, ok. Thanks.

6208 and 6209 were both active in Saskatoon today
On 6208 were ID's, 2264348 and 2264377. Also 2264380, 2264379, 2264375, 2264390 and 2264376 they are new to me but maybe you have them.

Several other TGs became active during this time as well, doesn't mean that they were related.
TG 46, 30, 47, 6179, 116, 48, 49.


A new TG that I started noticing in December is TG 5233, Regina Police Service (MCS Mobile Crisis Service) Mental Health Unit.
EMS ID's are 2255628. Yorkton EMS ID 2253386, 2255626, 2255628, 2255630, Macklin EMS 421 ID 2255632.

Some of the EMS units are from local regions and have been heard on EMS TGs, but when they are on the MCS TG they are always refered to as MCS instead of EMS. For example the Macklin unit is called MCS Unit 421 instead of EMS unit 421.

You will see that there are now more Alpha cruisers and fewer Bravo cruisers than previously deployed. There is also an ever increasing number of Charlie cruisers and combined traffic service cruisers being deployed, as it was discovered that there is an unusually high rate of bad behavior in this area for some unknown reason. It’s not me.

When the EMS radios were being upgraded, all of their available talkgroups were seen. All EMS radios have 1 main dispatch TG and 4 tactical TGs, that are all in sequence. EMS radios also have the special events TGs. Many of the special events (se) TGs showed up including these 2 TGs (6126 = se #17) and (6127 = se #18). Looks like the RR data base has these 2 TGs incorrectly listed, as I now have doubts about the Saskatoon courthouse utilizing TG 6127. The user was probably unfamiliar with the radio and was on the wrong TG? Of course a confirmation on this is required from a Saskatoon RR member.

Yes, there has been a protracted drought in Saskatchewan, so for those RR members that have “thirsty ears”, I have included a small BONUS file, that is devoid of any so called “sensitive information”, the “alphabet agency” doesn’t want shared with John Q Public. We will at all times, refrain from sharing “too much” information, here or anywhere else.

I have never logged 6126 and only logged 6127 once on Feb 1/23. 6127 appeared without any ID's, logons or data.


As far a data changes I have been following an ID 2265073 for over a month now. it was previously logged as Prisoner transport lid 5073, unit 801573 out of Saskatoon. It now has a pattern of data calls for about 1.5 minutes, and does this every 30 mins 24/7. No more voice calls only data.

On Monday March 6, 2023, one year to the day since my first encounter with PPSTN talkgroup 6208, at 8:03 am the RID 2264375 logged in on site 71 and then at 8:10 am the RID 2264377 logged in, with both on site until 8:20 am. They logged in on site 72 at 8:21 am. Data grants began to appear at 8:26 am from the RID 2264375, continuing until 8:31 am. A total of 28 minutes had passed. Shortly after lunch, I prepared for their return trip.

Exactly 5.5 hours later, at 2:01 pm the RID 2264377 logged in on site 72 closely followed by the RID 2264375 at 2:03 pm, with data grants to 2:10 pm. At this point I had already relocated to intercept them. Then at 2:13 pm the RID 2264377 logged in on site 71 closely followed by the RID 2264375 at 2:17 pm. There were no data grants seen. Utilizing binoculars, I looked for the suspect’s vehicle approaching from the east. These two RIDs were not the same as those from my previous encounters, and so this time I was expecting to see a different type/color of vehicle. I really wanted it to be a marked unit, but as they came into view, I could plainly see this unit was not marked. I was so disappointed.

At 2:21 pm the camera on my SUV captured several images of a white Chevy Silverado with a topper-cap, as it passed my location I could see the driver, a woman dressed in a dark brown uniform with the Saskatchewan Provincial Police Insignia on her left shoulder. Her uniform appeared to be the same as that of a conservation officer or a Saskatchewan highway patrol officer. The truck had slowed and we had a very good look at each other. Wow, she was a looker! And yes, I was no longer disappointed about the unmarked unit.
I am now convinced of their true identity, as RR member Wolffe from Saskatoon had previously identified the users of talkgroups 6208 and 6209 as the Provincial Sheriffs.

My data base will now show:

Hi to all.

We have noticed an ever-increasing number of data messages being sent on the PPSTN and so we decided to conduct a thorough investigation to establish the identity of these messages. We had no idea that the province had recently purchased and deployed all new Motorola radios as replacements for the existing Motorola radios, that had become, obsolete. At this time, we know very little about the capabilities of these new radios, as user requirements tend to dictate their specifications. It’s all about the software loaded into those radios.

After making contact with users of these new Motorola radios, we found that they were completely unaware that their new radios were sending data messages. Their portable radios do not have the GPS microphones. Their mobile radios do not have GPS capability. Their (MDS) mobile data service is provided by SaskTel and not the PPSTN.

We had thoroughly studied the ISP data messages being sent by the new radios and thought that this information could be shared with the users of these radios. We did so, and now we will share a little of our findings with you. Now comes the bomb shell.

We found the (FNE) fixed network equipment address field to be blank. Yes, the octets in the first packet of this multi-packet message that must contain the FNE address are in fact all zeros followed by the sender’s RID#. Comparing vast numbers of all of the ISP data messages showed there to be very little difference in the message content sent by many different Motorola RIDs other than the occasional error.
No FNE address was present in any of the packets that we studied. The Saskatchewan government’s old obsolete encrypted Motorola radios sent data messages to the FNE address 16777213. The new encrypted Motorola radios utilized by Saskatchewan Environment and those used by the SHP are no longer sending data messages to the FNE address 16777213, as their address fields are now blank. The old EMS and FD radios never sent any data messages.

It appears to us that the PPSTN is wasting channel capacity by loading the network with data messages that do not have an FNE destination address. This new Motorola gear appears to have been supplied with capabilities that are not presently being utilized and should be disabled. We were also informed that there are no plans for any kind of data service to be added to the EMS and FD radios as SaskTel has been building out a very high capacity 700 MHz data network, to be shared by both the public and emergency services.

Now a bonus for those RR members with thirsty ears, enjoy this refreshing high speed auto/audio action that was captured on Wednesday March 15, 2023, between 1:25 pm and 1:37 pm, and yes, this 12 minute of joy has been edited for the sake of brevity. Crank up that volume control so your neighbors can here this.

It begins with the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol officer HU3370, traveling south of Melville on highway #10 making first contact with Saskatchewan Environment conservation officer CO-0420, having just turned off the #35 highway and now east bound and down, the #56 highway. Then HU3342 joins the conversation, assisting with driving directions and such, as he is the senior officer in charge.
There maybe those that require a quick explanation of the nomenclature used.
DOC = Division Operations Command, is RCMP F-Division control in Regina.
MDS = Mobile Data service.

At 1:32 pm, CO-0420, now in the village of Lebret, sees the Chevrolet Camaro entering the curve where the CNR tracks cross the #56 highway on the eastern edge of the village. The speed limit at the location is 30 Kph for a very good reason. Obey the signage or fail.
Traveling at least 3 times the posted speed limit the Camaro exits the traveled portion of the highway passing through the ditch and crashing into the CNR rail-bed. The 2 occupants of the now disabled Camaro, bailout and run south toward Mission Lake.

The 2 suspects are quick to surrender after realizing that the snow cover is deep and there is no way to escape capture.
Of course, the both of them being so physically unfit that they could not outrun a toddler in a snow drift.
Cuff-m-up Kole is also known to us as, catch-n-release Kole. A fisher of men.
Arrest release repeat, arrest release repeat, arrest release repeat, etc.

The major areas have multipe channels for EMS however most rural locations only had 2 channels (I have pictures of the EMS console confirming this)

When the Event groups were relatively new the courthouse sheriffs in Saskatoon were using 6127 but they have now moved to another system and this was not updated.

Thank you, Ryan. You are correct. I did asked the EMS and was told that they and most others only have the 2 talkgroups. What I was seeing was all of the EMS TGs in alphabetical order. Assiniboia followed by Balcarres and then the hospital at Balcarres and so on. That was how the techs loaded them into the radios so that any TG could be easily located by the users.

A follow-up to the previous post obtained from the RCMP report:

RPS contacted the RCMP about a stolen vehicle traveling east of Regina. Police did not engage in a pursuit of the vehicle, but many units were engaged in an attempt to locate the vehicle. The stolen vehicle left the roadway near Lebret. A 30 year-old male and a 22 year-old male wear taken into custody. A search warrant was obtained and several items were seized from the vehicle that may lead to additional charges.

New, unknown talkgroup.

RCMP radio tech RID# 2212233 appeared at 11:20 am on March 21, 2023 on TG Regina HQ.
At 11:25 am radio tech RID# 2212232 logged in on the never seen before Talkgroup # 6225. At 11:47 am this RID# came up on TG Regina HQ and then came up, “Emergency”, sending that to FNE # 16777212, until that was canceled shortly after by control. A few calls and data grants were seen from only this RID#.

At 11:49 am the lunch bell rang so nothing until 1:07 pm.
At 1:47 pm radio tech RID# 2212247 came up on Regina HQ.
Little action was seen and all of these RIDs were gone before 3 pm.

The Talkgroup # 6225 only showed up once without coms. Please reply to this post if you see this TG at some point and take note or the RIDs. Thanks.

On the morning of April 26, 2023 RCMP radio tech Echo 300 showed up and later that morning new RCMP talk groups began to appeared on PPSTN site number 72. This site is used mostly by the File Hills Municipal Police Service, located on FNR #082, north east of this radio site.

11:20 am RID 2212551 M370 logs in on talk group ID 6228 ENC. Testing.

12:56 pm RID 2212558 M353 logs in on talk group ID 6225 ENC. (was seen before this).

1:23 pm RID 2212575 Portable FH 11 is the Chief’s on talk group ID 6230 ENC. Testing.

1:29 pm RID 2212881 and 2213756 are seen communicating on talk group ID 6230 ENC.

These talk groups were not seen on site #71 on April 26, 2023.

Are these new municipal policing talk groups? Are the following 2 RIDs utilized for municipal policing?

The RID 2212881 has previously been seen on the talk groups 52 and 54 and may be a mobile.
The RID 2213756 has previously been seen on the talk group 62 and may be a portable.

Did the Saskatoon RR members seen any action on TG 6230?

On April 27 the local RCMP radios were being reprogrammed to include the 3 new unknown talk groups that I have been seeing recently.
At 10:11 am portable FQ 12 logged in and joined TG ID# 6228 and then at 12:18 pm A280 logged in and joined TG ID# 6225 on site #71.
On April 28 at 1:05 pm portable FQ 16 logged in on TG ID# 6230 and then at 2:35 pm FQ 16 logged in on TG ID# 6228 on sit #71.

I really want to know who is utilizing these talk groups and so I decided to look at RR Saskatoon member Ryan’s Unitrunker-1 data to see what I could come up with and this is what I found. I thank you Ryan for providing me with this most helpful information.

The radio IDs 2264550 to 2264750 = a total of 200 are seen on the following talk groups:
6133 / 6134 / 6136 / 6137 / 6142 = a total of 6

Now we will take a closer look at just 3 lines of “ISP” data that I collected in Regina.

You will notice that all 3 of these RIDs affiliated in just 0.38 seconds as if these 3 RIDs are together at the same location. They may not be, but if a SERCO member, a Deputy Sheriff and an RCMP member are all at a location in downtown Regina where might that be? These are all ISP messages that I captured in the center of the “Queen’s City” and one must be very near to these RIDs to get those ISP messages.
Closer to home, we see the following.

At 9:12 am on April 28 the RID# 2264738 logged in and joined TG ID# 6130 on site #72.
At 3:57 pm on April 28 communications on talk group 6130 are seen between the RIDs 2264645 and 2264659 on site 72.

These RIDs and their associated talk groups appear to be most active in Regina with almost nothing seen in rural areas until recently.
It appears that both Motorola and Harris radios have been reprogrammed with these new talk groups and both brands must be sharing the same encryption keys and their associated IDs.

RR Saskatoon member Wolffe has reported seeing what appeared to be Harris and Motorola RIDS communicating on common talk groups utilizing encryption.

The province has recently purchased new Motorola radios, with their full capabilities being unknown at this point, but it appears that key sharing may have been the reason behind this purchase. It appears that the RCMP, provincial / municipal police and SERCO are now able to use the same encrypted talk groups for private communications on the PPSTN.
It appears that SERCO has been expanding it’s operations to encompass the entire province.

At this point it appears to me, that all these talk groups are utilized by SERCO and so my data base will show the following.
TG ID# 6130 SERCO Regina OPS #1 Encrypted.
TG ID# 6133 SERCO Regina OPS #2 Encrypted.
TG ID# 6134 SERCO Saskatoon OPS #1 Encrypted.

If I am not mistaken, I do believe the RR DB is pay-per-view now. I do not remember seeing any of these talk groups listed in the RR DB, but my memory is very weak.

I will of course be conducting an operation to capture an image of one of their vehicles as it passes through my area of operations. This will be the confirmation of identity that I require.

The database is always free. What requires a Premium subscription is if you want to see input frequency listings for conventional entries. This was the trade off for eliminating intrusive advertisements on the forums page.

Hi, to all those following this thread.

I have been just so busy with work these days that I decided to setup a single PC running Unitrunker 1, on my local site and saving the log files so that I may view them at some point when I get a little free time to do so. I tried running Unitrunker 2 earlier this year, but then gave up on it. No comment. In addition to that I also gave Universal Radio Hacker (URH), a try but the program is without a squelch setting for my SDR and so all I got was junk ISP data, so I gave up on that. Time to move on.

On June 6, 2023 I took a quick look at Unitrunker 1 and saw that the deputy sheriffs #75 and #76 were around at 8:15 am and then again at 1:32 pm but I forgot to save that log file. I shall not make that mistake again.

On June 9, after passing a newly erected sign at the junction of the #10 and #22 highways indicating an upcoming auction sale. I had a hunch that this “complete dispersal”, farm auction may have been the reason why the sheriffs were around.

I had seen the sheriffs on site 72 earlier this year and that site’s coverage area includes the auction site. The auctioneer’s sign included the farmer’s name and location, but I will not share that here. This infamous auctioneer is frequently utilized by the provincial government to dispose of it’s unwanted assets.

I knew nothing about the “auctioneering business”, until I was told this by an insider. “when you make a bid, you are bidding against the auctioneer”. OK.

You can see from the U-1 logs that the sheriffs were around all week.

On Wednesday June 14, 2023 there were six SERCO RIDs on PPSTN site 71 for 1 hour and 38 minutes.
The encrypted talk group in use was 6134.
There was no provincial court at this location on this day.

There is no dispatch/control RID seen.
The RID 2264562 appears to be in the leadership position.
Their communications are very frequent.

At some point I will get images of their vehicles so we know what to be on the lookout for. SERCO utilizes white cargo vans for prisoner transport in London UK.
I see nothing is ever reported by our media, about SERCO expanding it's operations in this country. Do any of you know what activities SERCO is involved in?

Why are they around my location? What are they up to?

I must investigate.

Yet another RCMP/SERCO INOP TG shows up in a U1 Log.
On Friday June 30 at 10:25:31 RCMP Portable FQ16 Login/Joins Talk Group 6227.

The first RID 2243553 had been on site 71 for some time, but no channel grants were ever seen. This RID has not been seen in any recent logs but this next one has.

This second RID 2243554 was a new one being tested on the system, as seen in the U1 log.

After encountering the first RID, I was curious as to the identity of the user, so I asked a reliable source and was quite surprised when I was told that the RID is utilized by Water Rescue. I believe that this second RID is also utilized by Water Rescue.

I had seen a yellow Jeep and a yellow ambulance, both with Water Rescue signage on them travelling around the lakes for about a year, but had know idea that this organization was on the PPSTN. I was told that Water Rescue works in conjunction with the local fire department, utilizing the ECHO talk groups. Water Rescue does not appear to have a watercraft of any type?

The local fire department has the most well equipped and best trained, marine rescue team in south east Saskatchewan. They utilize a watercraft that was designed and built for their marine operations. The local RCMP and Saskatchewan Environment officers also have watercraft. The RCMP watercraft RID appears to be 2212097.


Some other Fire Dept RIDs seen in U1 logs, but not found in the RR radio ID Wiki.
The identity of the Fire Department RIDs was confirmed by audio files from the talk group, ECHO 1.
The PA Dispatcher stating the "Mark Time" is of great help to me finding the correct RID in the U1 log file.

Recently, I was asked by a well informed source if I had seen any new EMS talk groups on the system and I said yes. I saw the RID 2252635 Valley Ambulance 13 unit 1912 had logged in on the talk group 5501.

As can be seen in this U1 log, the call on TG 5501 went unanswered and then this RID returned to it’s home group. No EMS talk groups above 5500 had been seen on the system prior to June 22, 2023. I was informed that another ramp/zone and talk groups was recently added to the EMS radios. I have no information on this, but will investigate. Are any of you seeing/hearing EMS utilizing TGs 5500 and above? None are in the RR data base.
