pre programed 996

I will be getting another 996 at the end of the month, how updated are the preprogrammed systems?
I think my 1st 996 is a little over two years old.

Please explain, are you buying a new scanner that has a programmed package installed for you?

the pre-programmed files are all original (as far as I know no updates have been done) so from 2005-2006

i personally suggest programming your own stuff (if you know how)... from the updated RR database

i see the preprogrammed stuff as just a "beginner" or basic set up for someone who doesnt know to program it or just wants to get scanning out of the box (good idea for beginners etc).
