I don't have a Pro-96 or Pro-2096. I have an ARC96 file for Monroe County that is almost completed. It has conventional frequencies in Bank 0, Hindustan site in Bank 1, Bloomington site in Bank 2, and Knight Ridge site in Bank 3. The sites in Banks 1. 2. and 3 match the quick keys in your 325P2. I am waiting for a response from Butel Software to see if a rebanded table is required for a P25 system for the Pro-96 and Pro- 2096. I want to make sure the file is correct. I will attach it when completed. I have been doing this for a long time, but there is always something new to learn.
I have Bloomington in bank 0, Hindustan bank 1, knight in bank 2.
I've added the same talk group IDS to all 3 banks and I used multi table rebrand for each bank. For the past 2 days I have been running the bcd325p2 and the pro-2096 and it seems to pickup everything my bcd325p2 picks up.. but before I adjusted the vr3 I was picking nothing up, also reband seems to help. Before I had all 5 frequencies in bank 1 now that I have 3 banks set up it picks everything up. So anyone with a pro-2096 needs to read this.

Also the only thing I had todo was turn the vr3 screw all the way to the right Towards the volume and knob and it works fine I'm getting 94-96% and if I go outside of my house I'm getting 99% so it was very easy 6 screws to take it apart.

Too add press "man" stop on a controll frequency
turn the vr3 all the way to the right until it stops when you have around 90% than you should start picking everything up

Please attach the values in your multi-table rebanding (no r) table. You shouldn't have to set VR3 to the end. Adjust it for the best decode.

The best for me was at the end

I am surprised that you had to adjust VR3 all the way to the end of its range. Not saying it isn't possible - just that I would not expect it.

Out of paranoia: please confirm that each control channel is receiving the intended tower. I want to confirm that the scanner is tuning to the correct frequency. (If there is a frequency offset due to the VR3 adjustment, you can get all kind of unexpected results.) For example, I want to make sure you are not receiving the Bloomington site when you think you should be receiving the Hindustan site. This may be unlikely, but is easy to confirm.

When you go to MAN mode on each respective control channel, you should see:
  • Hindustan: T0211
  • Bloomington: T0212
  • Knights Ridge: T023F

When you get home, please attach your ARC96 programming file. I will be able to look at the values in the tables.
440 559 440 851.0250 25.00
0 719 0 851.0125 25.00
720 759 0 848.0000 25.00
815 831 0 846.6250 25.00
958 958 958 868.9750 25.00

Butel says that a rebanded bandplan is not required for a P25 800 MHz rebanded system. In your file, Mot 3600 Systems Bandplan is set to Multi Tables on the 3 sites. You have the tables set for a Motorola Type II rebanded 800 MHz system, not P25. P25 is a 9600 system which is presently set to Normal which is where it should be. Set the 3600 Systems Bandplan back to Normal for the 3 systems and Upload to Scanner. The scanner should work OK with both the 3600 and 9600 systems bandplans set to Normal. The Pro-96 and Pro-2096 are capable of control channel only scanning. You only need to enter the control channel and alternate frequencies. If you should lose detection of the control channel, such as because of a weak signal or simulcast, the scanner can find the control channel again quicker if it doesn't need to search through all of the voice frequencies. You may be out of range of the Knight Ridge site at your location. The frequencies look OK.

A Motorola P25 site is usually using the posted control channel frequency. If doing maintenance or possibly due to interference, the site may switch to an alternate control channel. For almost all P25 systems, you only need the red control channel (c) and blue alternate (a) frequencies. The information for all of the other frequencies is carried on the control channel.
