I've had the new scanner about a week, works good when you just put in your zipcode and just go with it but if you want to use the ezscan iscan software to create your own custom v scanner folders that don't use the standard analog frequencies but use trunked radio system digital p25 phase 2 channels it's a nightmare to try and figure out how to do it. It's ridiculas, it shouldn't be this difficult. Software I think is about the same as the TRX-2, WS-1080, PSR-800.

I can create a new v scan folder and rename it, I can then go to the TRUNKED RADIO SYSTEMS and create a new one, then open up talkgroup details and enter the information but the system id # never seems to get in there and I'm just not sure I'm doing it at all correct anyway. Is there any instructions available or youtube videos that specifically tell you how to create a new folder and how to enter the data for a digital trunked p25 phase 1 phase 2 channels. This is very confusing. I've worked with software over the years but this is crazy!

You don't start by creating new V scan folders. You need to settle down and read the help file. The software is very easy to use - simply import the systems you want to hear, and assign the channels or talk groups to a scan list. Nothing to save, nothing to create.

In other words, import the system. It should import properly. Click on the trunked radio system. Now go down and click on the talkgroups. At the last column you assign it to a scan list. Enable that scanlist. Read the data onto your SD card. Put it in the radio and turn it on. You are now scanning that system.

Appreciate it, I have now played around with it enough to where it seems to make more sense now. You make a new v-scan folder and then make as many playlists as you want, within that v-scan folder, Use the library import the systems.

Not as complicated as I originally thought once you do it a couple of times.
