pro 96 interference

I have a question I take my 96 with work with me.. and recenty the company I work for put gps in all the vans everyonce in a while I will get a light beeping sound coming through the sacnner I guess from the gps will this harm the scanner at all?

I always wondered the same thing, I get the same noise thru my scanner whenever my cell phone (nextel) rings. It almost sounds like drums.

I dont have an answer for you,....just wanted to let you know your not alone with your problem! :)

Nope, won't harm it a bit.

its ok

yes i get that too . you will get that when the towers change when your cell is looking for a new tower . and when it rings . its a great party trick . i always know when my phone is goona ring . it will do to the computer and tv`s too

What you're getting is the GPS system sending your information back to the company. GPS is receive only, but a lot of systems use the GPS info and send it back either over the cell phone or their radio system.
