I'm using Proscan with a BCD536HP. What I like about it is the fact that I can control the functions of the scanner on my computer screen since the USB port becomes a serial port. I would like to know if I would be able to do the same thing with a series X60DN scanner like the BCD260DN. What is important for me is being able to see the scanner screen on my PC and being able to enlarge it. I find that I have problems with the screen of the scanner because it contains lots of data in a small space. This is about the only thing that I like about Proscan, since I can do the rest with Sentinel.

Proscan is awesome for collecting RIDs as well. And you can use the wifi dongle on your 536 and don't need to use the cord for your computer. It does a lot, I am still learning. Supposed to log fire pager tones too.

If you're asking if the BCD160DN and BCD260DN will work with Proscan I can only tell you it's on the list of supported scanners. Click on select scanner type and see if it is on there maybe ??

I want to know if the 260 can be programmed by Proscan just like I do with my 536HP. I want to see the picture of the 260 on my computer screen , enlarge it and click on the buttons to control the scanner.

I replied above it's on the list of supported scanners. Did you click on select scanner and see if it came up on your version of the software ?

Yes, all the supported scanners can be programmed, display enlarged, and controlled using the buttons.

It's ok, maybe I wasn't clear enough in my answer. Good luck, the 160 is kind of on my short list of scanners I am considering. Hope it all works out for you!
I have a 536HP but am looking to get a 260 since trunking is not too popular here. Everyone is moving to NXDN and DMR. I have 2 choices, sell the 536 and buy a 260 or upgrade the 536 with NXDN and DMR. Looking into that.

We still have a lot of capabilities here for trunking, and I listen to it daily. There's one department on DMR but it's far enough I don't usually worry about it unless I'm working up in that area. I'm still in the air what to do here, I have the trunking part handled with Unication pagers but, I wouldn't mind a hand held held for DMR when I'm up in that area so, thinking about the 160. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Best choice is just keep the 536 and get the upgrades

You will then have a very capable scanner and if NXDN or DMR trunking system pops up you will ready to monitor it.

Plus you P25 and stuff is always involving with this digital mode.

I was going to say much the same thing. Keep the 536, buy the upgrades, you get more than otherwise, plus the upgrades are cheaper than buying a new radio....
