RTL-SDR.COM Dongle USB Issue

Anyone else having connection problems with this particular dongle on the USB end.
Mine (I have two) disconnect and reconnect with the slightest movement.
Plug looks OK and is tight in the housing...both dongles do the same thing...
May have to slip the board out and check solder connections.

Are you plugged into a hub?

Does any other USB device such as a flash drive have the same behavior when plugged into the USB port? Could be a broken or loose USB connection on the PC side. Can you test them in another computer to see if the same behavior occurs?

Other things to consider include, is this on a laptop? Are the dongles getting enough power?
Are you using a new/newer computer with a Ryzen CPU? Those have been known to have issues on some chipsets and revisions, namely the newer 5000 series Ryzen CPUs for USB 3 and also some newer Intel mobile CPUs where power efficiency seems to cause issues.

I thought there was another thread about the Intel laptop issues with needing to put the CPU under load in order to get a stable USB connection but can't find it at the moment. Just a few things to consider.

I have used these dongle’s with a hub, but they do their thing connected to an extension cable or connected directly to the PC. They operate just fine when they are connected even on the hub. PC is a Microsoft surface pro seven. As long I don’t touch them when connected they work just fine.

Well, I found a few support posts about the Surface Pro 7 and USB connectivity.

Does it happen when the Surface Pro 7 is plugged into power, or just when its on battery?

Then again, could just be loose connections, shoddily manufactured USB connection on the PCB.

Happens on line power and battery...
I kind of suspect USB connectors on the dongle...If I don't touch them, once connected, they work great.
