the only training sent out revolves around TDMA, and who gets priority during transmissions,

Bizarre that there is training for this. Both of these are transparent to the end user. I guess you have to train them what "bonk" means.

Busy SFPD activity yesterday into today, all encrypted. Still see no sign of unencrypted SFPD talkgroups. Active recently; A1 (TG 804), A3 (808), A4 (810), A5 (812), A6 (814). There's also some activity on TGs that are presumed to be SFSO, and the usual SFFD activity. The automated SFFD dispatch continues on 60102. I have a spreadsheet of about 165 TGs I've seen activity on (sometimes only a keyup) over the past several months that I'd be happy to share with anyone who will have better luck than I did when I tried to paste it into the wiki.

If you want to PM them to me, I can update the database.

This morning, there has been a lot of electrtical work discussed on TG1575 (SF USD 3) as well as 1571 (SF USD Maint A). Lots of testing of breakers and which outlets/lights get turned off, etc.

So far I have not heard any SFPD unencrypted talkgroups. Lots of Fire/EMS, and of course SF USD maintenance/tech today.
There are a lot of TGs I'm excluding, and looking for unidentified talk groups not in the latest RR download (which I think was updated 9/1/2021).

I wonder how SFFD firfighters feel about the digital audio quality vs the old analog quality? Talking to an ex Palo Alto firefighter, he was always complaining about how bad the audio quality of their digital system was.

Wonder if they'll still simulcast it on analog and if the PD will switch over too...
I'm pretty sure they've been simulcasting at least some of the SFFD channels for at least the last week, as I've noticed some digital artifacts on some of the analog fire TGs.

But you said you've heard nothing on the PD end and what you have heard has been all encrypted?

Lots of encrypted PD dispatch so far, mostly at night.
Which talk groups? I have the 804-828 programmed now, but no traffic seen here on them.

In the last 2 hours (aprox) I've seen the following traffic:

Transmissions -- Channel
10 SFFD A2
85 SFFD A3
98 SFFD A1

Does anyone have a DSD+ bandplan log for the new system?

Logged transmissions so far since Midnight:
2 SFFD A4
3 SFFD A5
45 EVENT 2 (Seems to be medical dispatch?)
461 SFFD A3
630 SFFD A2
660 SFFD A1

So yes, SFFD becoming very active on the digital system.

I'm not sure if I have the p25rx configured properly to log encrypted channels.

And I'm still disappointed by the overall audio quality of the digital system.

Are you hearing "pure" P25 transmissions, or the audio bridge transmissions from the analog system into the digital system? If it's the audio bridge transmissions, then it's going to sound like crap until users are actually talking on the "true" P25 talkgroups.

That's a great observation. That probably explains why some transmissions are barely intelligible and others are much better.
