Are you looking to operate a radio on the system or monitor the system?

If you are looking to operate on the system, I'd suggest you speak to the county. They will have to authorize any radio you wish to use.

If you are looking to monitor (listen) to the system, I'd suggest you read this thread

Then it would be better if you get a list of radios that will work from someone in authority within your system.

For one of us to tell you that such-and-such a radio will work fine would be a WAG at best. I don't think anyone here on the forum wants to take responsibility if you purchase a radio based on our say-so and then you find out it won't work.

The county purchased and operates that system, not your fire or ems agency. The county has to authorize you to use it, and I suspect they will also want to approve in what radio you use.

There is a list somewhere in this thread of the portable and mobile radios that are being provided for system users. The radios must be simulcast capable, so not every Moto (or other) P25 radio will work.

I heard the Northside Fire Alarm go off in Waterford and the TGID came up 6064

At the same time I heard that call I saw 511 was Burnt Hills FD

111 was car 33, not sure which FD that is

and 115 was truck 18_2, not sure what FD that is.

So it looks like they assign 113 through 119 as needed, but is Northside Fire on its' own group 6064 ?

There used to be a list on NF2G or one of the sites like that.

It had all the car and truck numbers along with tones for the sirens and the pagers.

I thought I had saved a copy of it, but I must have lost it, because I can not find it anywhere.

Maybe someone has a copy and can post it ?

Has anyone managed to get confirmation on what TalkGroup 120 is called ? It is usually encrypted, and I have no ID for it yet.

Yes, TG6064 has Northside,Waterford and the recently added Halfmoon-Waterford on it.

Other TGID's

6064 do you have the Fire Dispatcher giving call details and tones on this TGID, or is that info still given on 111 ?

I heard the trucks talking to each other on 6064 , but I did not hear the initial call on this TGID.

It would be nice to just have the 6064.

Is there any way to limit the dispatched calls to the 3 Waterford Depts ? Can the Pro-197 do that or can the Win500 software do that ?

I have not been able to figure out how the Waterford Rescue Squad gets paged. Are they still using the VHF, or are they on the 800 system as well now ?

1511 I have been hearing, but it is encrypted, any idea who this is ?

1134 not sure what this is, saw it in the log, but I can not get my win 500 to record.

I can hear the audio through the speakers of the laptop, but it does not create a wav file.

I have the box checked to record.

Does the record feature not work in the trial version ?

I'm missing the paging from dispatch for fire calls. I hear the cars ack' on Fire-1 and I hear the TAC channels, but I don't here the initial calls telling location of the fire.

Is that info transmitted on 511 ? I locked that channel out because of the loud tones and I did not hear anything about the calls on that TGID, but maybe I was missing the call info when it resumed scanning.

Any help ?
