I have a problem scanning a DMR Tier 3 Capacity Max system. This system is operated by the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. There are 3 sites, (1) the site at the Summit of the Mountain, (2) a site on a lower high point called Lincoln Lift, and (3) a site at the Top of Chair 12, which covers terrain on the back side of the mountain. Site #3 is not receivable from my home due to topography. I have it programmed in the radio for the next time I get up to the ski area and can receive all 3 sites from the main lodge.

First, when I'm programming each of the 3 sites on the system in the header above the frequencies where I place the site name it allows me to program a quick key, however on the system screen where I add all the frequencies it enters a system key. I chose the same quick key for each site and so each site shows "S-2" as this is the second system of my program. At the system header the screen shows S-2 (First).

Second, the scanner was scanning each of the 3 sites just fine, from the time I programmed this system into the database. The duplication of system keys did not seem to hinder it from scanning all three sites.

Third, I can't say this for sure as I didn't write down when I installed version 23.5. I noticed around the time I installed this latest version that the scanner would only scan the first site in the program. It won't scan sites 2 & 3. I should say that I'm not scanning the talkgroups I've programmed I do a talkgroup search which scans through the known talkgroups I have for the system, plus finds any that are not in the program. I have the radio in "ID Search" as I discover new talkgroups this way on this somewhat complex system. Anyhow, if I lockout Site #1, the scanner will scan Site #2. If I lockout Sites #1 & #2, the scanner will scan Site #3, even though I can't receive this site. Each site scans all the talkgroups in my TGID lists.

Bottom line: why has the scanner stopped scanning each of the three sites? Why do I have to have to lock out 2 of the three sites to choose which site I want to receive? I didn't make any changes to the program recently as far as I can remember, but in this timeframe the software version changed. What gives?

Proscan has nothing to do with the Scanner Firmware so I do not think it is a Proscan problem.

I never indicated there is a firmware issue. I downloaded the current firmware a couple of years ago, or whenever it first came out. When I completed the download the scanner was scanning through all three sites. It wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that the scanner would only scan Site #1. The only change I made was to download and update to Version 23.5. Something changed to not allow the scanner to scan all three sites. Why in the world would the Firmware have anything to do with this, as it did not make a difference in having all three sites scan at the same time? I could see that it did if the change to only one site being scanned right after I loaded the latest firmware, but that did not happen.

According to Uniden's website Firmware Version 1.11.07 came out 11-8-24, not a couple of years ago. I stand corrected. I downloaded it in December, likely in the first two weeks of December. The radio scanned each radio site in the Mammoth Mountain System for 3 1/2 months since that download. It began scanning only one site at a time somewhere around the 1st of April. This eliminates the Firmware as a factor in this change. The only change made was ProScan's latest update (23.5), which I downloaded shortly after the program let me know a new version was available. This leads me to believe that ProScan has something to do with this. I have no other changes I can point to that is causing this.

So the issue started after you programmed the radio with ProScan?

What humor? That would have been my first suggestion to trouble shooting it.

You could have stated that I should disconnect the USB from the radio, disconnecting it from the computer. Doing so does not remove ProScan from the scanner. In spite of that I did disconnect the USB cord. No change, you have to manually scroll through the scanner, reach Site #2 and it will scan on that site only. Then you have to scroll though to Site #1 to have it scan that site. It used to scan through all three sites. I don't have any of the three sites locked out.

I was trying to tell you FIRMWARE changes how the scanner scans.

And I'm trying to say that following the firmware update the scanner scanned all three sites over and over for a period of 3.5 months. Obviously the Firmware update had nothing to do with this.

What do you mean by “does not remove ProScan from the scanner”? If all you did was update the ProScan software and DID NOT program/reprogram the radio then ProScan did absolutely nothing to the scanner.

I did not update the scanner with the updated ProScan version until I discovered, one 4-3-25 the scanner was only scanning one site. So I downloaded the program all over again to see if that would solve the problem. I've both uploaded and downloaded the program from the scanner and to the scanner, multiple times. No change to the problem I'm reporting.
