Scantenna distance question???

i was wondering.. i have a Uniden BC95XLT hooked up to a Scantenna in my attic (to protect from outside)
my question is... how far will my antenna reach to get a decent signal???. im really looking for air frequencies..
i can reach about.. oh i dont know... 30 miles away with Badley intl. .... but i want to know... can i get southrn Mass, or western R.I.?

This will calculate theoretical line of site distances for you:

With the AM of aircraft comms I suppose you may get a bit of skip but not much. Most of the antennas at airports and the like are not very high because the airplane is up high and provides the line of sight. I expect your over-ground distance will not be all that far. I don't bother lietening much at my home here since I am about 35km from the airport and only get the aircraft's side of the comms 95% of the time. I do have a small hill in between too which kills another 4%.
