So I got suckered into buying one of these cheap Chinese USB TV tuners with a Realtek RTL2832U inside. I'm using Gqrx and it appears as though my range is 22MHz to 1,100MHz. I am located just outside of Dallas. I can pull up NOAA, FM Radio, several different Dallas Police Department channels, and a few that sound like Morse code. Everything else sounds like bell tones or a semi truck. I don't know if that is natural or something man made. Out of all the active frequencies I've found I can't seem to locate the Dallas Fire Department. I googled it but the freqiencies they suggest turn up nothing. A few other questions. In layman's terms, what is trunking? Also what is the signal in this image? It sounds like a semi truck.

852.2 is a control channel for the Richardson P25 system: Richardson P25 Trunking System, Richardson, Texas - Scanner Frequencies
