SDRTrunk Runs - No Audio

It looks like, from going through my logs on the working VHF UHF dongle on the old PC - it is not producing audio just like on the new PC. the difference is that the old PC - the waterfall shows the RF signal right away without having to click on anything.

Also - in reviewing the logs, I see that calls are being detected and the log file header is written - delimited column titles, if you will. There is no data below them and the calls seem to all be rejected.

In digging further back I see that in April the same log files were being written but the calls were being accepted and decoded and the headers AND the data were being written.

Does this help the diagnosis?

The re-tuning without stopping the software seems to work much more smoothly wince the diagnosis and repair of the USB port conflicts by the way. I am just focusing on the best working VHF UHF dongle for the time being.

- Once started I get static on the waterfalll although the waterfall does work. Once I click on TUNERS and then MAIN the waterfall shows what seems to be a good radio signal populated waterfall. Seems I didn't have to do that click before... may be mistaken.

sdrtrunk uses the first tuner that gets loaded to display in the waterfall. As you described, you can change which tuner is displayed in the main waterfall window, or open separate waterfall windows for each tuner if you need.

- If I have the following output from the software, what frequency should I have set-up as a channel?
I have 853.962500 and 853.87500 and 854.98750 and I am in NW Lower MI.

The line that says 'PCCH' is the Primary Control CHannel for the site. It looks like you have it setup correctly since you're generating these details from the control channel. Sometimes the Primary channel is down and the system will use one of the Secondary Control CHannels (SCCH) until the primary channel is restored.

Look in your call events tab and see if there are 'CALL' events. In the right-most column it will indicate 'No Tuner Available' if it can't find a tuner for any call events.

When watching the 'Now Playing' window, are you seeing additional channels being created as each call occurs? You should see the orange 'CONTROL' for your control channel, and each call will have a blue 'CALL' channel being decoded. If you're not seeing the blue call channels, then sdrtrunk is probably not following the call channels and the second tuner is likely the issue.

If you're seeing the call channels being decoded and still not getting audio, check the log file to make sure that it's loading the JMBE library correctly.

If the JMBE library is loading correctly, check the output sound card that is being used. Right-click on the audio panel where the call talkgroups are being displayed and where it says 'MONO' or 'LEFT' or 'RIGHT'. Here you can select which sound card the audio is being sent to and toggle between MONO or STEREO playback. You can also right-click in each audio panel and change the volume.

One additional thing to check if your calls are not being followed ... in the P25 Control Channel configuration on the decoder tab, you can set the maximum number of traffic channels allowed. Make sure that it set to a value greater than zero. This value limits the total number traffic channels that are allowed to be decoded at the same time for that control channel.
