Not surprised that Amazon did not post your review or whatever it was. But again, I wouldn't expect them to - they love for people to sell for as much as possible. Again, the guy is free to list it for as much as he wants. Sadly, someone who doesn't know any better (and, worse, is too lazy to do a simple web search to see the going price) may pay it.

FYI in addition to Amazon seller inoah1997, who is currently selling the SDS100 for $935.89 (plus $5.49 shipping) there is now another Amazon seller, Petesportscards, who is currently selling the SDS100 for $799.99 (plus $5.49 shipping). Petesportscards has a 100% positive rating with 47 total ratings while inoah1997 is a brand-new Amazon seller with no rating ("Just Launched"). Caveat emptor!

The Ham Station (hamstation.com) had one SDS100 in stock as of 6am this morning. $649.99 with free shipping. I ordered his next-to-last unit yesterday. I just got back from vacation and was surprised I was able to find one available.

Just as an FYI you might want to check with the credit card issuer of the card that you used to purchase your SDS100 to see if you have "Return Protection" coverage on that credit card. I have a Citi issued credit card that has that FREE protection for 90 days after the sale and they will refund your purchase price if the merchant will not accept the merchandise return during that time period. YMMV depending on which specific credit card you used for your HRO purchase but it is at least worth investigating.

The biggest reason is so that they do not compete with their dealers.

They have always been higher as they don't want to compete with the dealers. Very rarely in stock anyway.

I wonder if the 25% tariff that went into effect will apply to scanners or unidentified products made in China. Is it made in China?

A transceiver seller on fb indicated the tariff went into effect today but that their prices for chinese radios wouldn't change while they still had pre-tariff inventory.
