SDS100/SDS200: SDS-200 DMR Frequency changed in Display

My SDS-200 will show a different frequency (sometimes) on the display that is not programed in my favorites list when monitoring simplex DMR One frequencies. It is in fact tuned to the new frequency that is displayed. Is there something about DMR that forces the SDS-200 to change frequencies? Is it trying to track a conversation? I am new to this. Thanks.

Depends on what the new frequency is. Sometimes the scanner rounds off the frequency. IE 451.11875 becomes 451.1187. WE would need more information on what your seeing before an possible cause can be identified. What frequency are you seeing and what frequency are you seeing when it changes. Also are you sure its not a trunked system and you are seeing the migration to a voice frequency.

I've never observed this behavior with anything DMR-One Freq on any of my Unidens, can you provide a specific example? How different is the frequency you programmed in versus the alleged displayed frequency? You're observing this natively on your SDS200's display and not via a third party app (Proscan, etc) ?

It is happening right now. 170.2625 is the frequency in the favorites list. 163.275 is being displayed and actually received. I know because I am monitoring that "ghost" frequency with a SDR. 163.275 is in a different favorites list. I am running Proscan but looking directly at the SDS-200 screen. Sometimes the "ghost" frequency is in the 800 mhz band, and I have no 800mhz frequencies in any of my favorites lists. Just now, being parked on 170.2625, locally at the radio I examined the favorite's site frequency, which is 170.2625 and when I backed out to the main display the frequency displayed was now correct with 170.2625. I have seen this behavior before. Power on/off fixes the problem also. This does not happen with analog transmissions. would monitoring DMR CAP+ cause the radio to change frequencies? My brain hurts.

Disconnect the cable to the scanner so that Proscan are not in use. You could have enabled some function in Proscan that makes it look at the reverse frequency of the monitored one, the function you do from the scanners keypad by Fn+8. There are so many functions and features in Proscan that it will be easy to tick a box by mistake, or forgot that you did when just do a test momentarily to check what it will do.

Also check your default step size. It looks like its resetting to a 15Khz step size rather than the 12.5Khz steps the frequency is programmed in as.
