The rssi on the screen shows that the signal was weak but the SDS100 was still able to copy the system although copy and garbled.

Which is the absolute furthest thing from simulcast distortion there is.

Any chance the SDS100 will have a narrow AM bandwidth mod to properly cope with 8.33 kHz spacing used across Europe, and for which the FCC has granted permissive use in the US?
The bandwidth on all existing Uniden scanners is impractical if there is one, or two, active transmissions on adjacent 8.33 channels, as you hear both, or all three!

Since it's SDR-based, even if it's not available on release, there are very high odds it can be added later (unlike previous models).

I’m really interested in how the SDS100 handles in the Metro Atlanta area. There is such a mix of radio environments for it to get a good workout.

Does this scanner have the hardware ability to handle AMBEv1 based encodings? I'm specifically curious about the potential for DStar support.

Edit to add: I also don't see the max size of a favorites list documented in the prerelease manual. Is it still 1mb or has it been enlarged? (Hoping for larger)....

I’m waiting for the Louisville videos, if he is in the area of the fairgrounds LSM will be awful so should be a good test, Nashville would be better it is the worst

I’ll get one when it comes out, I’ll do some comparison videos with the G4 and 536

As well as post internal audio from different locations as I travel

That isn't necessarily true. Entirely possible to receive multiple sites equally poorly if you are far out of the simulcast but just happen to have a good look at multiple towers at that equally poor distance.

At any rate, even if you can't evaluate LSM, you can at least evaluate Paul's claim that weak signal digital performance is better.

Another observation on the Philly recording regarding the weak signal. It was showing about 3 bars at around -110 dBm, and it was having some trouble decoding at that level. Probably should adjust the scaling on the signal bars.

Looking forward to some videos of the mobile performance.

I would like how well it works on the Starcom system in Illinois. Especially the Chicago metro
area and Will County.

I have 2 minor question's.

1- Can the sds100 be hand programmed for everything ?.

2-How many tone-out slot's are included ?.

The manual mentions Sentinel software available on the product page.

A) I don't see the product page

B) I searched for it and it doesn't come up.

It’s not out and the manual is not complete yet.

Sorry if this has been covered already, how will this guy do against DMR systems with RAS? And anyone in the NNJ, I'm talking Pequannock, and Kinnelon PD.

I have never had any problems with anything in Nashville with either 436 or 536

Test that baby on Miami-Dade County’s P25 Harris System. If you can get good decode while mobile on the Turnpike, then you have a good product.

I have to wait and see how how it performs with the Middlesex County, NJ TRS and the NJICS TRS both running at the same time (along with some other stuff...maybe Somerset TRS...some conventional frequencies too).

But the $699+ (plus extras) price tag is probably going to be out of my budget, unless I sell almost every scanner and radio I have. I'll take a wait and see approach before I dive in.

I have two 536 scanners. Neither worked on the Nashville P25 Simulcast until I installed an 800 Yagi pointed in a very specific direction. Through trial and error the system comes through pretty clearly most of the time.

The new Uniden scanner(s) should not require the acrobatics to get a clean signal.

I'll be there at the end of June. I'll check it out. But, on similarly challenging systems (indy, louisville, mesa, etc) seeing incredible improvements.

If you come up North, please give it a shot on Morris Cty P25, Bergen County P25(what’s open), and please please Wayne’s P25 Harris System. I’ve been having a hard time following that system with my 396xt.
