Like an idiot I decided to take a chance and update the firmware again, in hopes the bug I had before had been corrected.
Nope.
ProVoice is still a mess and not useable.

This makes me wonder if the issue of displaying TG info with no audio on a NON encrypted system is because it gets confused if it is clear or encrypted.

Good intuition. Another version will soon be in beta testing.

Would you be willing to make some test logs and forward them to me?

When V1.21 came out I was super impressed on what it did to my digital reception on the scanner. I noticed as time went on DMR simplex reception has gotten worse. This latest update made no improvement and might of fact, made things worse. I am happy that @JoeBearcat is making the firmware versions publicly available for people to play around with. If they have issues with a version, they can always revert back to an earlier version. I really like that! As for the Type II Beta, I'll have to play around with that and see if there's any difference; my SDS200 is hooked up to a preamp and mini discone, so there are no issues there, lol. As for my SDS100, things could be a bit better.

That could be a symptom of an SD card getting full or going bad. Not sure why, but others have reported that decode issues were solved by new cards.

Did the update on my SDS100 and my 2 SDS200s. All 3 have the waterfall installed and activated. I am monitoring Connecticut's P25-2 statewide system. So far I see a slight improvement in the digital audio on all 3 scanners. In analog mode, I am finding the same audio results. Audio sounds a little less muffled and crip. RSSI numbers are pretty much the same as before the update on the digital side. This may be because I am close ( 2-3 miles ) to a state repeater site. At this point I have not tested the waterfall yet. So far no negative issues to report.

Awesome the TG display with no audio happens mostly on weaker signals. Although it does occur on strong signal now and then
I've seen the issue on weak and very strong signals alike monitoring only P25 Phase 2 700/800mhz systems between 2 SD cards. I have to try a P25 Phase 1 system and see.

So oddly enough, DMR simplex seems to be working for me just fine again, using Firmware 1.23.03 that was embedded in the Type II Smartnet firmware along with fantastic reception on all other digital systems with my SDS100.

My question for @JoeBearcat is if those files on the SDS TWiki pages will be staying on the site permanently. I am debating whether to Download all of them to my PC as a backup just in case.

After upgrading to this version, I have issues with conventional channels: Occasionally, the squelch does not close after the carrier drops.
I've started experiencing the same problem using the default database (no customization) on
edit: I noticed I was using the global invert filter, I changed to Normal and will report back.

Some interesting behavior out of my SDS100 in waterfall mode VS other modes on one particular frequency seen here. Read description for further clarification.

The gain are set to auto in waterfall mode while in scan it has a fixed value that has changed over the years and has been settled for a level where most people will not suffer from overload issues.

I have asked for a gain setting that the user can select, as the optimum setting will vary depending of location, frequency band and antenna used. But as many people have problem just with filter settings and IFX it would add one more complex option to understand, so it will probably never happen.

I noticed the Type II Beta Files are now both removed from the SDS100 and 200 TWiki. Any reason as to why?
Probably didn't want to clog up the firmware list. I think Joe Bearcat mentioned that there's a new Beta coming out soon for testing.
Looks like the SDS100/200 Remote Command Specifications PDF has been updated for the Waterfall.

So after downloading and working with this firmware now for 3 weeks today, I have come to the conclusion that while there is some improvement in reception of 700/800mhz P25 Phase 2 audio, there is still work to be done. The weaker P25 P2 systems come in a little better with the advantage of being able to monitor with squelch at 2 and not 0. The strong P25 P2 system which is also the county I live in has taken a step back. None of those systems sound particularly great while being mobile, especially with the Remtronix 800 rubber duckie. I have tried all filters, NFM vs FM, IFX, a new SD Card (Which improved another issue I had with reception but that's for a separate thread) and everything still sounds a bit "off".
UHF conventional reception has had NO improvement with this firmware. T-band 500mhz frequencies that are located about 15 miles from my location are missed or come in scratchy and unreadable. Other scanners and Unication devices can receive them just fine.
I still need to test the 800mhz P25 Phase 1 system that is nearby that is tough to receive anywhere. I also have a UHF T-Band P25 Phase 1 system about 30 miles to my north that the scanner used to track a little bit while mobile. There is also a 800mhz Motorola Smartzone system that I have to put through its paces.
