Updates will get easier once we implement Sentinel-over-IP. Above is a temporary workaround (hopefully only needed for the beta testers).

Paul will the usb cable for the sds100 and gps puck work on this radio? the cable that eliminates the cigerette lighter plug?

thanks

I have the SDS-100 with all 3 protocols installed. I really do like the look of this unit, but after reading the thread on the PD / FD / MED moving to encryption, I'm on the fence spending $800 for the base SDS-200 that may end up being nothing more than a rail / air / commercial scanner... I have so much money tied up in scanners right now... Oh who am I kidding, I'm sure I'll be on the pre-order list as soon as it comes out. To bad local public safety couldn't issue an encryption decode chip to users that they vet and are comfortable with. Oh well. Waiting to hear on release and pre-order date. Of course this means that Whistler will release their new and improved version within a couple of months of the SDS-200 release.

I am hoping the Micro SD card from the SDS-100 is interchangeable with the 200 that way I can use the same card on both scanners

I'm not Paul but the GPS for the SDS200 is similar (or even identical) to the one used on the Beartracker 885. It connects in the back of the unit via the RJ11 port.

that would be awesome but haven't seen mention anywhere i just tried to find the gps for the 885 for sale separately and couldn't find it anywhere

It wasn’t included with the 536 so why would it be included with the SDS200?

Does HamStation charge credit cards immediately, or when the product ships? Do they charge sales tax, or are they one of the holdouts?

Well I am not sure about if the credit card portion gets charged immediately but I purchased one and used the Paypal link and got charged the full amount. I guess I paid for something I will not receive for a while. I am okay with it as long as I am on top of the list to receive one first.

I didn’t say you did, I was commenting on your speculation if it “might be”.

Well the radio looks pretty sexy so far. With the ethernet adapter jack on the front I am not so sure that should of happened. Stream line everything on the back except for the programming cable port. I am glad that they did not use any Wifi. People need to understand that Wifi is not perfect and having dropped connections could cause for headache's to try and resolve with Uniden. So to have a direct port means no dropped packets and hopefully it will be incorporated with The Siren app or something else that is easy to program or a cloud based server type of technology. I like the larger color screen for us guys that can't see really up close.

Pretty much have nothing negative to say except hopefully I receive the radio as soon as they ship from HamStation. I already have been charged the full amount of 700.00 bucks. So glad I returned the SDS-100. If I need an HT I stick with my Moto family.

Do you have the SDS100 set? Same one. It is online, but I would need to search.

Regarding the SDS200 ... I want to be excited about it but I am sending my SDS100 back tomorrow so I am hesitant to be too hyper.
