Thanks. If I were going to use my phone with the SDS200 in my truck, it would probably be fairly simple. If I were going to look for a cheap Android something to use, it would probably be even easier. Using it with my SDS100 in the house would be a bit more of a challenge as I'd have to figure out how (if it's even possible) to connect the SDS100 to my network.

Something to think about when I have time.

You're right, I really had no intention to go this far when I started it.

It should run on any Android version later than 7, but Android has some very diverse products, so no guarantees.

You can connect to any of the supported 4 scanners with USB or the Wifi connected scanners with Wifi. It works pretty much the same either way, except for the audio from the wifi connection. There is no way that I know of to get the audio over USB.
For USB you need a cable to run between the phone and the scanner direct, no hubs or anything.

No, the wifi feature only works with the SDS200 and BCD536. For the SDS100 and BCD436, you need to use a USB cable between the phone and the scanner.

Thanks. So much for leaving the SDS100 in one room and controlling it from another. ;)

Here's a preview of the setup I'm working on. 2016 Ram 1500 with aftermarket android 13 head unit, SDS200 mounted in center console. Audio to the little speaker on the dash instead of through the radio. Still tinkering with the seup & figuring out what works best for me.

If you are using a scanner in your vehicle, put your cell phone in hotspot and tethering mode, that will generate a WiFi signal on your phone that the scanner can connect to (not the sds100, but the sds200 or a BCD-536 will using the Wi-Fi dongle). Then you can get the IP address for the SDS display app from your scanner (after you connect the scanner to your cell). Its great if you can't see your scanner when driving.

Hope this helps

I did that with my 536HP and the WiFi Dongle. Are you saying that same dongle would work with the SDS200 and the app?

No, the SDS200 is wired Ethernet only. You could do it but it would be a lot more complicated

I have Pro Scan, but I don't know that I could stream to an Android. That's because I haven't looked into streaming at all.
Look into the Web Server feature. It will stream the display and audio to your phone web browser.
If you have any questions on the Web Server setup, post them here ProScan Support

Yes sir. Make sure you get a high quality OTG cable with external charge port. I’ve been daily driving this for about a year now. Works great most of the time.

Yea, that will work. Min has an extra port and i can feed it power. It sucks when the scanner goes in low bus voltage mode.
