As initially written, an SDS200 is involved. I thought a mini USB couldn't fit on a micro socket and vice-versa ... Already tried to launch the App before/after switching ON the Scanner, no difference. OxygenOS is basically Android 12 with minor cosmetics "enhancements".
On my oxygen OS phone the USB connection doesn't work automatically. You'll have to pull down the message screen and go to its very bottom where it says USB connection and tap on that. There you will have a menu for different types of USB connections you can do as it will be set to charge only, non data mode, as default and needs to manually be set to something else each time you connect a USB cable. But you probably already know this if you have tried to transferred any pictures or files from your phone over to your PC.

Is it possible for you to lock the baud rate to 38400? I have issue that it just shows scanning.

What is special about 38400? Right now it is set to 9600. I had it at 115200, but that was causing massive button lagging problems when the database did a GPS location reload

Just tried this today and it is an EXCELLENT app, thank you! I have a Samsung Galaxy 22 Ultra and a Samsung Galaxy Tablet A9+, but currently testing with just the A9+ (Android 14). I also have the 436, 536, 100, and 200, but have only run it on the 436 so far. Two items of note... 1) yes, I can press and hold on the displayed channel while in portrait mode, but this does not work for the System or Site in either mode; 2) one of my systems uses an apostrophe (Prince George's Co, MD), the display adds a semicolon after the apostrophe, so Prince George's Co displays as Prince George';s Co. Still, an excellent app and thank you again!

Thanks for writing this. It worked on the first try with a SDS200 on a Lenovo Tab M10 HD using the original cable and a USB A to C adapter.

I will have to look into the apostrophe issue. Not sure why the other doesn't work

Ooops, my bad. "MENU" is indeed there, although not labelled as such, located bellow the "Record" button.
FYI when scrolling down (with the "Func Up" button) the highlighted item disappears when in landscape mode.

I do not see what you are seeing on any of my test phones

Well ... a few minutes before trying to snap a picture for ya to have a look on what my screen looks like, Sentinel pushed an update on my SDS200 and since then communication between phone and your wonderfull App can't resume. Would Uniden try to interfere? Would it be a bug ..? Sorry to bother you anyway.

Maybe they don't like me?

I just ran Sentinel, and the SDS200 did update, but everything still works for me after

Thank you for coding this app. I am using my older bcd325p2 with a Lenovo M8 TB-8505F. The basic functions on the app's keypad seem to work; quick keys, menu, avoid (L/O), and the display works as well, although it lags a bit. I know it was created for the new family of Uniden scanners, however I thought perhaps you would like to know it functions (limited) on an older model. Most importantly, I can see the display!
Thanks again,
Frank

If this was a paid app, I would certainly pay for it. Is there somewhere you can accept contributions for all of your hard work? This app is not a trivial piece of coding.

I have questions, such as if I'm going to plug my phone in to charge, how do I then plug the phone into the scanner? The next would be, I just go to the link on my phone and click release 1.52? Then make a donation to the very nice man who made this Godsend of an app? 😊

To charge at the same time, you need an "On The Go" cable, which is just a Y cable, like this on for USB C.

For the app you will need to sideload (install) the .APK file downloaded from github There are a couple of links to how to pages on the bottom of the github readme, but just search Android sideload and you will find plenty.

I saw the two articles on on how to sideload an app. It sounded to me (I am not super computer/tech savvy by any means) that if I google the link to your Github page, once there all I would have to do is download the release 1.52 file, go to where the file was saved and click on it to install? Or did I miss that I was going to have to download something else and my phone? Thank you for putting up with the amateur questions?
